"the 3D works really well on the new 3DSXL" Also talk of 60 FPS on the newer ones for newer games. It's great that they're actually improving the hardware but it still leaves me frustrated having an inferior version that I can't simply upgrade like I would my PC.

They love their hardware, but it's much easier to just switch the console entirely. We used to have expansion slots on bigger consoles like the N64 or Gamecube, and with older consoles we could inject software into the cartridges, but because of how the 3DS is built, it's not as easy as just expansion slots, it requires an entirely new mobo and everything. it's kinda like the situation with the xbox 360 changes, from the arcade to elite to slim. it's not like back in the day where the only thing you really needed was a RAM expansion for DK64 or MM, in this case you need a new CPU, new camera, new holes cut for the thumb nipple, etc. i hope they release a new 2ds. [editline]15th January 2015[/editline] or at the very least next time don't release such a flawed console and actually improve it
Oh shit, the Song of Double Time lets you warp to specific points ahead of you instead of always the same time and then having to wait around. 100% speedrunners and Let's Players are gonna really love that change, it takes a shitton of standing, waiting around for things to occur out of the process and can thus cut down on editting for the latter. Bomber's Notebook getting alarms and enhancements also helps.
So glad I got a 3DSXL. I knew they were gunna release a beefed up version all along
