Does anybody remember the old rating system? I do.
I joined in summer of 09', but I knew about this website long before that and it never really crossed my mind to make an account until then I guess.
The old rating system just worked better in my opinion along with smartness, but that's neither here nor there.
I vote yes on this petition. Hopefully Garry is able to change it if we get enough people, or maybe he just won't give a fuck. Either way, it's worth a shot.
I bet we could get at least 1000 people at least for this. If not, then...fuck I guess.

Agreed. It forced people to be smart or get out.
I don't like the smartness system, I'd rather have a person looking through and deciding if people are breaking rules rather than have users constantly rate someone down. For instance, if the smartness system was here I would probably lose loads of smartness for an expression of an opinion against it, simply because the people who rate me down do like it.
The report system works much better, in my opinion. Also, 200 people is nothing when tallied against the total number of users that aren't banned on this site, it'll take a lot more than that to change anything (which it probably won't, anyway).

Basically this. The old ratings system was no different than this one besides the fact that you need two for the rating to show up and they are better organized.
I'd like it back, but a poll won't change anything. Unless Hezzy made the poll.

Yeah sure, it'd be exactly the same now if it was introduced. It's the members who were around to see it who constantly complain about the new members, so who is to say that it would work with these people in mind?
