I figured it was about time to start my own thread to showcase all my aimless art student junk. I'll just start off with some content from the last two weeks that's been seen before to get the ball moving. Leonardo study, Charcoal, 18x24 Portrait, Graphite, irrelevant size. "Charcoalroids", Charcoal on cardstock, polaroid sized... 2 minute charcoal gesture, fucking massive (Most likely 24x36) Ugly class mate...ugly graphite, ugly size. Messing with rooftop props yesterday Now time for my work from today! Adding more rooftop props to other buildings, just threw the little building in with the bigger one since I had the lighting setup. Both unfinished still but I'm liking the way this is looking. Spent a few hours today carving out one of my matrixs for my current printmaking prject, it's a piece based on the poem "Dolche et decorum est" read it if you want to understand it. I'm digging the process though. Ultimately it's going to look something like this mockup I did. It will be made with three separate plates, one for red, yellow and black. And finally to top it off, a messy ass charcoal sketchbook doodle. Now time to get to work. I'll update this thread an unhealthy amount hopefully, and with all manner of content. Enjoy. Also a little bio, 21 and drinking heavily, going to university for fine arts, and I live in Indiana. Want to know more? Stalk.
Nice work man, I like the lino or woodblock (I think) carving, I find them so fucking hard to do. Keep up the good work.
that gas can is so awesome
Brilliant, as usual. If you were a character in a story, I would criticize the writer for making you an archetypal "flawless prodigy."
Fleshed out the middle building, add the roof details and built the rear of it.
Making good progress, starting to feel like something with some actual life to it.
That looks awesome! I've wanted to learn how to 3dmodel for years but never get round to it (because I'm a dumbass). Any tips on starting out?
@ajacks Where is that render going? Surely your work would benefit in some city simulator?
Where in indiana do you live? bloomington?
Terre Haute Indiana. Also, it's destined to be sold.
@ajacks Where is that render going? Surely your work would benefit in some city simulator?
Those would be really high detail for a city simulator. If you look at most games with big cities (like DC Universe Online, GTA 4, etc), they detail the bottom where I player will walk by, but from a certain point up it's just a flat box with a texture. Vice versa for top down things like Sim City.
Your art is so crisp
