The first abandoned place I ever entered was this house across the alleyway behind my house. It was cool and rather creepy (there's a registered pedophile living next to that house). There wasn't much to see in the house except there were like hundreds of bicycle tires all piled up in this one room. I'm thinking about breaking and entering in to this intermediate school a few blocks away from my house. Any one have tips on how I can do so without arising the suspicion of the cops? How to circumnavigate security measures? What was the first place you ever explored and what places do you plan on exploring? Does urbex and urban climbing intersect or overlap each other? Does anyone ever try to explore buildings that are in active use?
Why would you break into a school? As a child I would try to break out of it.
I went to an abandoned warehouse. People smashed glass everywhere, and i could tell people had just smoked weed in there. Found some flourescant light bulbs that my friends proceeded to throw at this crazy feral bat that was chasing us. Good times.
I've got some pictures from the old WW2 bunkers at Flamborough Head on the East Coast of the UK, but that's not really urban and it's open to the public anyway. I'm a bit of a wuss. And I'm fairly certain breaking into buildings that are still in use will just get you arrested.
wear a gas mask if going to an old construction site in case of asbestos
Trying to Urbex in actively used buildings will most likely get you arrested. The whole point of Urbex is to explore abandoned buildings.

There's this one office building a local phone company uses. I want to go inside and explore it till an employee notices me and then I'll run away.
Why would you break into a school? As a child I would try to break out of it.
It's because it's forbidden that it's so fun. Also, when you use break+school, the result is always fun. OP: Wear gloves. [editline]05:25PM[/editline] Wear a scary mask, too -snip-
Don't break anything, don't take weapons or drugs, leave only footprints, take only pictures. If you hear anyone there that's not you or a buddy, get out of there
