Origin has some pretty weird stuff, such as limited downloads, after you download the game like 3 times, you have to pay to download it again. Also you will lose your account if there is no activity for 24 months.
Why is it called Origin? There's nothing original about it.

YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT AGAIN?!?! No thanks EA, I'll just go retail with BF3.
E3 Was "USE ORIGIN. USE ORIGIN. USE ORIGIN."
Fuck that shit hardcopy BF3 for me.
All their new hardcopies will probably have to be activated with Origin, which will then have an install limit or some shit using the license.
All their new hardcopies will probably have to be activated with Origin, which will then have an install limit or some shit using the license.
ITS A FUCKING DOWNLOAD MANAGER AND YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO RUN IT TO PLAY GAMES AFTER YOU DOWNLOADED IT /rage
ITS A FUCKING DOWNLOAD MANAGER AND YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO RUN IT TO PLAY GAMES AFTER YOU DOWNLOADED IT /rage
EADM renamed.
EADM renamed.
Did I mention EADM fucking sucks dicks
fuck, seriously? brb getting hard copy of bf3
He's full of shit, plus hard copies will probably just give you an activation code for origin, just like steam does for it's games. Ontop of that, it's just EADM, meaning you dont have to have it running to play the game. You all need to quit getting your panties in a bunch over something you know jack shit about.
I'm just pre-ordering it over D2D. Everyone seems to be going crazy over it not being on Steam and being Origin "only", but it's on other download services. Just use them instead. Even though we necessarily can't win because it's not on Steam, it doesn't mean we have to join the and use Origin. Just use D2D or Impulse or something.

No seriously I'm really curious how does that make sense in your head.

Methinks either D2D / Impulse versions are fine with having it bundled with Origin OR the DLC will be Origin only Also I love EA playing the victim in the Steam case and saying Origin won't compete with Steam. Yes Origin is about as non competitive as pre WWI Europe
From what I heard, Alice requires Origin with a boxed copy, so I assume Battlefield 3 will too.

I'm pretty sure it's available on the other ones so EA can undermine Steam as much as possible.
My theory is that Origin was designed to piss off PC gamers so much that they switch to consoles.
My theory is that Origin was designed to piss off PC gamers so much that they switch to consoles.
It all makes sense now.

[B] ... I don't like the way that looks.
I remember people making a big deal over some of the Battlefield games when it said "online services can be shut down after 30 days notice." Said games are still up and running. That said I'm still antiOrigin, they should go fuck themselves and stop lying to us. I feel like maybe Valve is only keeping quiet so that way if they file a lawsuit nothing can be used against them
but.. but... my randomly guessed cd key got me free crysis 2

A: Digital download rights remain available for at least one year after purchase. Origin typically doesn’t retire games, and we’ve only retired around 10 of the 150 games we sell, and these have generally been because of the expiration of licensing rights. If you come across an issue, simply contact Origin Help and we'll reconfigure things for you.
