• Colorado weighs strategy for guarding against marijuana crackdown
DENVER — Colorado is considering an unusual strategy to protect its nascent marijuana industry from a potential federal crackdown, even at the expense of hundreds of millions of dollars in tax collections. A bill pending in the Legislature would allow pot growers and retailers to reclassify their recreational pot as medical pot if a change in federal law or enforcement occurs. It’s the boldest attempt yet by a U.S. marijuana state to avoid federal intervention in its weed market. “It would be very harmful to the state if it reverts back entirely to an underground market,” said Mason Tvert, a spokesman for the Marijuana Policy Project, a pro-legalization activist group. If the bill becomes law, Colorado would be the first pot state to take action to protect producers from a federal drug crackdown, marijuana analysts said.
It would be hard to imagine the countless new legal home growers and commercial grow operations to all stop what they're doing and have to sell off their equipment. One could expect that going back to it being fully illegal now would only make the underground market for weed explode. If cops, the ATF, and DEA thought they had a problem before, they would only have seen the tip of the iceberg. It's too late to go back now, it can only move forward without having long lasting negative effects. Legalization has caused job growth and massive economic and tax revenue booms, there isn't much reason to keep it fully illegal since marijuana isn't nearly as dangerous as some legal pharmaceutical drugs (opioids)

sue, the DEA has clearly violated the law when they found there was no medical use, plus they've stalled and stalled reclassification hearings which are mandatory under the law
They did their research; they just don't give a shit.
I would say they give a very large shit, considering their desire to go over the state's heads to punish marijuana users and distributors no matter the cost.
The right doesn't even remotely look like weed.
It looks like they took a plant that they didn't take care of and threw the whole thing in a blender

In 1970 there was no accepted medical use. Why would they change the law on smoking it when non-smokable Marijuana can get the same positives without the negative impact of smoke. Marinol and Nabiximols is the same shit, minus the smoke.
