A legal challenge to a planned offshore wind farm which could be seen from Donald Trump's golf resort in Aberdeenshire has been rejected.
US businessman Mr Trump claims the £230m European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) would spoil the view from his golf course at Menie.
He wanted the decision by Scottish ministers to approve the project overturned.
However, the legal bid has been rejected by Lord Doherty.
Lord Doherty said he was not persuaded that it could be fairly concluded there was a real possibility of any bias in the decision-making process, or that the decision not to hold an inquiry had been unreasonable or unlawful.
The Trump Organisation said it would review the Court of Session decision.

Communities world-wide continue to challenge the destructive proliferation of wind turbines and we will remain a fierce opponent at the forefront of this battle.
Those poor wind turbines.
I think they look good.
I've seen some badly placed wind turbines (in the middle of a city what the hell are you doing), but those actually look pretty nice.
His deal got trumped
Gotta suck being super rich and still not being able to sway elected officials :'(
Should've built them on his golf course instead just for that.

They're really better off being placed in cities though instead of being placed in untouched nature.
I love wind turbines, I have a bunch on the horizon outside my window and they're so cool to watch, all peaceful and shit. Seeing them upclose is insane too
Aye the guys an arsehole, he pretty sure he tried to pay of the Grampains Police Force to try and keep protesters and shit well away from his golf course.
Trump is a massive twat, what else is new?
I think wind turbines have something relaxing about them, I'd love to be able to see some from my window.

There's not enough wind in a city.
There is in untouched nature.
Besides, a year after they've been put up, then only sign of that there's a windmill park is the damn windmills themselves.
No dig-marks or heavy machinery tracks left, just windmills generating energy from wind
Golf is like the most douchebag sport ever
You literally appropriate and mow down a huge plot of land to toss balls on it once a week
Think of all the better shit we could have done on that plot of land like casinos with blackjack tables and hookers

Here in Scotland at least I think the idea is that we're gonna try and put most of our green energy stuff out at sea.
But, wind is a finite resource! If we keep putting up all these wind turbines, then we'll use up all the wind more quickly!
(that was an actual argument against wind turbines, used by a member of the GOP. . .forget which one)
I actually don't support wind power, but rather a larger investment in solar. As the panels get better, we could see them practically built in to the roofing of every home, creating a new type of grid in which houses with excess power would supply houses with less power.
Around here, they destroyed the mountain ridges in Vermont for not even that much wind. They had to tear down large areas of trees to make new roads just to haul the massive equipment up there.
I'm sure the off-shore turbines have less of an affect on the environment, but for me solar seems like a much better option long term.
Concerning them being out at sea, I wonder what dolphins think of wind turbines, since they're assumedly rooted to the sea floor. Would they merely see them as strange white pillars, or would it be like a Roadside Picnic?
Also screw you Donald Trump, you tarnish the shimmer of gold like so many others.
This fuck is worried about a view from his golf club in the UK while here in the US he's having another Trump brand casino built in 29 Palms, CA.
Get fucked you rich prick.

If it's anything like his last casino, it will go bankrupt because Trump can't even run a business where the house always wins.

Um yeah
Why not both ?

Scotland's famous for its sun
the destructive proliferation of wind turbines
I'm hard-pressed to think of a more backwards viewpoint than this. The proliferation of wind turbines is anything but destructive. They have practically no environmental impact, save for the dirt that needs to be misplaced to plant them. There is hardly a cleaner, less destructive source of energy out there. They're also quite pretty, in my opinion, but I guess at least that bit is subjective.
Mister Trump needs to pull his head out of his coal plant and consider the possibility that the world may not actually need to bend a knee for him.

Realistically, we need both, and more. In order to completely (or near completely) eschew more environmentally unfriendly forms of energy, we would need to combine wind, solar, and hydroelectric power generation facilities with more intelligent energy usage overall. "Green" buildings are a must-have. The technology isn't there to completely rely on only one alternative source of energy, and even using several doesn't help if we're still pissing away what they produce on a wasteful infrastructure.
Oh dear, what a shame.
Suck it up, toupée boy. Wind turbines look awesome anyway.
I do completely agree that those things are an eyesore, but there's a reason they're putting 'em up. Deal with it, Trump.
What a stream of entitled bullshit. Bourgeois pricks like this guy think they have the right to remove sources of renewable energy because they are an eyesore from their private golf courses, when many a working class family has been shifted out of their home and poorly compensated so that something else can be built over the top of it.
I find his golf course to be an eyesore, can we do something about it please?
Was hoping the U.S. finally started putting up turbines off the east coast. The east coast has a massive potential for energy if we utilize it. But the beurocracy behind getting them up is long and drawn out. Deep sea offshore wind, with massive floating turbines will make wind energy a serious contender.

And you don't have to look at them because they're miles away!
I must be the only one that finds wind turbines in the horizon awe-inspiring.
also ground solar panels on hillsides.
I dont understand why in Europe they have like a million offshore turbines but by a combination of the GOP and the epa and several lobbies its like impossible to build anything offshore
This probably resulted in trumps comb-over getting so enraged that it was like Goku's hair from dragon ball z for a few seconds; A chilling thought.
This is obviously a human rights violation; just like with North Korea not being allowed Ski Lifts. Despicable
