• Russian army vehicles enter Ukraine
Column of 23 armoured personnel carriers and support vehicles cross border after dark, while 280 trucks come to halt separately The white trucks of humanitarian aid rumbled through Russia in a convoy stretching for miles, moving slowly southwards on the M4 highway, amid a landscape of fertile fields and Ladas stopped at the roadside – their boots overflowing with watermelons for sale. But, while the white trucks came to a halt well short of Ukraine's border, a different Russian convoy did cross into Ukrainian territory late on Thursday evening. The Guardian saw a column of 23 armoured personnel carriers, supported by fuel trucks and other logistics vehicles with official Russian military plates, travelling towards the border near the Russian town of Donetsk. After pausing by the side of the road until nightfall, the convoy crossed into Ukrainian territory, using a rough dirt track and clearly crossing through a gap in a barbed wire fence that demarcates the border. Armed men were visible in the gloom by the border fence as the column moved into Ukraine. Kiev has lost control of its side of the border in this area. The trucks are unlikely to represent a full-scale official Russian invasion, and it was unclear how far they planned to travel inside Ukrainian territory and how long they would stay. But it was incontrovertible evidence of what Ukraine has long claimed – that Russian troops are active inside its borders. It's starting to turn out like the Baltics but without the massive ethnic cleansing.
Providing Humanitarian [sp]military[/sp] aid.
-snip- dumb
dang
It's classic misdirection. We send massive unwelcomed aid here. And while they're not looking enter over here with the goods.
So did they cross or not? This suggests they didn't actually cross yet.

After pausing by the side of the road until nightfall, the convoy crossed into Ukrainian territory, using a rough dirt track and clearly crossing through a gap in a barbed wire fence that demarcates the border. Oh fuck.
shut up and take our damn aid
invasion is 30 minutes away
laserguided is probably laughing all the way to the ban camp
Bit surprised of the lack of confirmation from other sources.
Well, they are great about describing this "military convoy" visually without any photos on their own i guess you don't need additional confirmation for that, right? Seriosly, i checked source and there's only aid convoy pics, where is all tacticoll stuff?

Love how the location of that tweet says "Donetsk, Russia" from what little Cyrillic I can gather.

That's probably just a placeholder since it shows military APC without any assignation on normal road at day/late evening, whenever in article they were describing "stealthy" operation of military convoy on dirtracks at night. Not to mention that it's singualr picture within whole article somewhat resembling military vehicle. Soo, read first, then think, then rate. Althought how the hell would that be sneaky if you had friggen journalists observing it?
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/15/world/europe/russian-convoy.html?_r=0 It's an armed aid convoy containing food and shit, not an invasion force.
KAMENSK-SHAKHTINSKY, Russia — A Russian aid convoy destined for rebel-held territory in eastern Ukraine resumed its disputed southward journey on Thursday, in apparent defiance of demands by the government in Kiev that the shipment be stopped. Moving at a steady 50 miles per hour, more than 200 commercial trucks and some army trucks with white tarpaulins set out before daybreak from a military base in the city of Voronezh, where the convoy had halted for more than a day after protests from Kiev. He warned that Ukraine would use “all forces available” to block the Russian trucks if they tried to enter Ukrainian territory without being checked first by border guards and representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The reporter noticed a separate small column of purely military vehicles enter the boarder at nightfall in a different location. Its probably something that has been happening regularly throughout this conflict running supplies and volunteers to the rebels. Not an invasion per say.
Something tells me russian media has been spitting out propaganda

He took this very photo before the APCs proceeded to the dirt track and the troops crossed the border.

I actually think that the shit is about to hit the fan.
Someone should remind them this isn't Dota 2
If it means more Russians in the army and less on csgo I'm all for it
Love how the location of that tweet says "Donetsk, Russia" from what little Cyrillic I can gather.
There is a Russian village called Donetsk. It is the same village which the Ukrainians shelled. Not the Ukrainian Donetsk.
Seems like escort for the aid convoy? It'd make sense.
It's starting to turn out like the Baltics but without the massive ethnic cleansing.
Balkans* get your geography straight before commening on geopolitcs
Seems like escort for the aid convoy? It'd make sense.
A heavily armed, moving in the dark, through a gap in the fence, armoured escort convoy complete with infantry moving in. This is completely fucking normal
