Hey, these are some photos that I had a photographer take at a dubstep concert I played at.
What do you guys think of them? I'm no expert, and I'm just wondering how they turned out, how much skill it took for him to do these.
I'm trying to find out if he's a good photographer, instead of just blatantly asking him, thanks.

Here are a few I thought were good.

They honestly look like snapshots from someone's point and shoot that anyone could have taken, but there isn't anything really 'wrong' with them. There is nothing glaringly bad or embarrassing. They do the job of showing what was going on - but nothing more. In other words, You probably won't make any impressions, but you also shouldn't lose 'credibility' by using them, which is why I assume you're asking about them.
My final verdict though, throwing my higher standards out the window, is that you should keep this guy around. He's alot better than what I normally see for concert photography like that.
Alright, thanks. What should I be looking for while trying to find a good photographer?
Pictures that convey a message.
A concert can have plenty of creative photography potential, but taking photos of the same guy(s) in nearly the same boring angles is not what I would consider creative. Those photos looks more like snapshots rather than photographs that holds values and meanings.
Ahh, thanks guys. Maybe I'll just talk to him and try to explain more what I want.
You should take a look at Jaanus' concert photos to get an idea of what is good for that stuff.

If you are paying him for these, I would get someone else.
