While Pebble has already sold over 95,000 units of its Time and Time Steel smartwatches thanks to its highly successful Kickstarter campaign, it's not done with its 2015 lineup just yet. Today, the company is revealing the $249 Pebble Time Round, which, you guessed it, has a circular watchface. But that's not the only thing that sets the Time Round apart from the rest of Pebble's lineup. It's also thinner, lighter and the strap comes in both 14mm and 20mm widths, making it the slimmest and most lightweight Pebble to-date. Though there are a couple of downsides -- it only has a couple days of battery life and is not nearly as water-resistant as its square cousins -- the Time Round is by far the most elegant smartwatch Pebble has ever made.
Damn the bezels are huge.
Meh I prefer the steel
I get bezels are still totally hip yo but this is a bit ridiculous.
This is why the flat tire on the moto 360 is a good thing.
Why does one of the watch's bezels have the cardinal direction numbers on it? Thats literally what the watch face is for.
Are they actually using a round display? Because that bezel might be there specifically because the display is actually rectangular and the bezel covers the unused corners and as surprising it might sound, that would be definitely a cheaper solution than having a custom round display.

I think they look very nice

That's exactly what I thought but they already can make bargain displays that are perfectly round. I mean, it might not be the right technology though so it's still possible, but I dunno.
I have an original pebble, its best for reading notifications and the time

I doubt there are cheaply available round colour E-Ink screens on the market at the moment.
2 days of battery life? $249.99
Why not just buy an Android Wear watch at that price point? Most of them look better and are far more functional, tbh...

Colour e-ink is a relatively new thing in general so I doubt small, round, reasonably priced displays are easy to find at all. Like brandonsh said, it's more the e-ink that's the problem than the round part.
$250 is a bit steep for a watch like this, you could get something that does more for less.
