The rumors are true: Netflix has agreed to produce a 12-episode third season of Black Mirror, the celebrated British anthology series that's helped to revitalize near-future sci-fi this decade. The show's first seven episodes — that's two three-episode seasons and a Christmas special starring Jon Hamm — aired on the UK's Channel 4 from 2011 to 2014. Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones will continue to produce and run the series in its new home. There's no premiere date set yet — the new episodes "are scheduled to begin production in late 2015."
http://www.theverge.com/2015/9/25/9397087/netflix-black-mirror-season-3
Are they planning to do a 12-episodes re-imagining of the S1 premiere starring David Cameron?
12 episodes? jizzer's christ
Great news! One of the better shows I've seen!
That's more than double the episodes in both Seasons 1 & 2 combined.
I hope having so many episodes doesn't spread the quality thin, Black Mirror was amazing because every episode was nicely thought out.
Netflix is doing gods work... Now lets get Utopia picked up for another season!
Oh my god yes Yes Yes Yes Yes I fucking love Black Mirror
this is good loved S1 and S2
Great news - the show is fantastic and C4's video player is garbage so it's win win really
That's more than double the episodes in both Seasons 1 & 2 combined.
It's exactly double.
There's a second season? Oh, shit, gotta hunt for that. I loved Season 1.
There's a second season? Oh, shit, gotta hunt for that. I loved Season 1.
make sure you dont miss the christmas special, its possibly the best episode of the entire show
It's exactly double.
Yeah, so it is. Guess he didn't do too well in maths class. Although, I'm sorry to say this: it's not exactly double if you include the Christmas special. It's less!
If only they could do this with series like Deadwood .. [editline]25th September 2015[/editline] But Netflix is just great. Do they produce TV simply because they have so much money, or?

never watched this show, what's it like again? some new-fangled Twilight Zone kinda deal?
never watched this show, what's it like again? some new-fangled Twilight Zone kinda deal?
Pretty much, based around cynicism/black humor of technology
That's so great, I'm always bummed out after I finish re-watching both seasons and realize that's the end of it. Broken Mirror is genuinely one of the best pieces of media I've seen in a while, whether it be TV, movies, games, music, etc. It's insanely clever and entertaining and it always manages to deliver a solid philosophical premise by the end. It's the kind of show that entertains you and really makes you think at the same time, despite how cliche that description may be. Super glad that Netflix is helping keep this thing going, if there's anybody in here who hasn't already watched Black Mirror, you seriously need to look it up. The show explores futuristic topics regarding politics and technology mainly and how the two might intersect or shape possible futures. Some of the episodes have a more dystopian tone than others, but the main point is that each episode is it's own little universe and has it's own premise and central theory to explore. It's very clever.
never watched this show, what's it like again? some new-fangled Twilight Zone kinda deal?
basically, its an anthology show where each episode has a different setting and cast, with a completely different plot, but all the episodes have to deal with society and how it reacts and responds to the advancement of technology i didnt understand the first episode at all but after the second one i was hooked
never watched this show, what's it like again? some new-fangled Twilight Zone kinda deal?
It takes the most out-there "what if's?" scenarios, from pig-fucking prime ministers to human memory being digitally recorded, and plays it out in how it may very well realistically happen.
Isn't that basically like 4 new seasons since the other 2 were all 3 episode seasons. Not complaining anyway loved this show
