this was probably the best outcome
"Based on the fact that the Democratic nominating process is totally rigged ... it seems inappropriate that I would debate the second place finisher," Trump said in a statement.
Well there goes that charity
bitch move, trump
Coward.
I had a feeling it would never happen
[editline]27th May 2016[/editline]
Could this repel some of the if-not-Sanders-then-Trump voters?
lmao basically turning down donating 10 million+ to charity. what a bad look.
I expected that he'd abandon since the idea of debating a man that can present undeniable fact properly can poke holes in his very plan to be president of the United States.
"Likewise, the networks want to make a killing on these events and are not proving to be too generous to charitable causes, in this case, women’s health issues. Therefore, as much as I want to debate Bernie Sanders - and it would be an easy payday - I will wait to debate the first place finisher in the Democratic Party, probably Crooked Hillary Clinton, or whoever it may be." They're not agreeing to the donation, that being the issue.
Honestly, whenever a liberal news source cuts someone off mid-quote, I always take it as their way of trying to hide something. Like right now.

Came here to post this, glad someone is looking at the fine print.

Trump wants the donations to go to women's health issues and it looks like no networks are giving him acceptable offers because of that. If he doesn't get to help the issues he wants with this then there's no point for him to do the debate.

Trump doesn't actually give a fuck about the donations. He's using them as a campaign tactic.

What makes you think that?

Everything I know about Donald Trump.
Everything I know about Donald Trump.
clearly don't know enough if you know his track record with the amount of charitable acts he's done over the years
The cowardly Trump.
Makes sense tho why give Sanders a boost?
both campaigns seemingly recieved acceptable offers according to the sanders campaign. trump backed out lmao
I haven't heard of Trump getting any offers, would you mind sharing them? I saw some general offers that said money would go to charity but not to which.
Everything I know about Donald Trump.
I don't see how you can say Trump doesn't care about the donations when you don't share why you think he's only doing it for the campaign. Trump has given a lot of money to charities in the past so I don't know what makes you think he's in it for the ratings.

Neither of those are a major news company though. The $20m one would have the debate on pay-per-view and the $10m one would be streamed online. Pay-per-view isn't ideal because Americans shouldn't have to pay for access to hear presidential candidates present themselves to the public and online won't work because one of the largest voting demographics is old people who can't into computers. Not to mention Trump would want the largest audience possible and it's easy to see why. He needs to get his poll numbers up so he has good chances going into November. Now, if one of those offers were from a major news company, then yeah, I would be one of the first people to shout "NO BALLS!" and call Trump chicken.

You make a solid argument with the $10m debate. The whole thing is supposed to be hosted for charity but that company in particular just wants to promote their own crap.
In exchange for ponying up the cash, Hecker says that his company will be given the rights to host the debate and stream it on the web using its own “cutting-edge mobile technology.”
Honestly I'm sick of companies shoehorning their shit into the debates this season. I don't care about Facebook trends or Youtube celebrities asking the candidates questions through videos. I want to hear the candidates discuss issues or at least go at one another, not be sold bullshit when the country is trying to pick its next president.

To win over sanders supporters and make hillary look bad, obviously.

1 million doesnt equal 10 million and the Young Turks will use that to push their own agenda. Besides, there's no better way to piss off Armenian voters than by agreeing to appear on the network that's named after the perpetrators of the Armenian genocide.
The Young Turks has money?
clearly don't know enough if you know his track record with the amount of charitable acts he's done over the years
he's so charitable that he can't even release his tax returns showing all his charity
Dirty Don is a chicken.

Name a media organization that wouldn't do something to push their own agenda.
And I don't want to marginalize Armenian Americans but they are an incredibly small minority.
