When Wine Monopoly in Vika, Norway Thursday sold goodies from Bordeaux like Chãnteu Petrus 1982 and Chãteu Lator 1982 for 3600 - 1800 dollars per bottle, people stood in line - some for over a day - to get their hands on the valuable and rare drops. Those with 5000$ in their pockets could get a bottle of Magnum Ch. Rothschild 1982 - one of many goodies that was under strict rationing: Only a single bottle per customer. After two hours most bottles were gone, and the Wine Monopoly could celebrate having sold wine for 500 000$ in only two hours. At times it went roughly and wine dreams broke - literally. - There are many sharp elbows, people have also taken things from each others' shopping baskets, Kathrine Dalmo from the Monopoly said. - The bottles disappear quickly, but it was actually even more chaotic last year, Fanny Josefsson Waller says.[/release]
Hope you guys can pull this through this okay.
fuck you and your sensationalist title for a second there i thought the world had lost all hope :v:
for a second there i thought the world had lost all hope :v:
What are you talking about, there is no hope left. When I finally got in there was no Cheval Blanc left over.
You had me for a second
You have my heart, Scandinavian Brothers.
OH MY GOD THIS IS SO BAD MY FAMILY HAS NO wine TO DRINK
- There are many sharp elbows, people have also taken things from each others' shopping baskets, Kathrine Dalmo from the Monopoly said.
Elbows too sharp, would not steal from.
Some background information before people point out what a terrible name "Wine Monopoly" is for a liqour store: in Norway, the state-owned liqour chain Vinmonopolet (lit. The Wine Monopoly) is the only store allowed to sell alcohol with more alcohol than 4.75%. Hence, it is truly a monopoly on wine, not a distasteful liqour store name :v:
OH MY GOD THIS IS SO BAD MY FAMILY HAS NO wine TO DRINK
Quit your wine-ing
fuck you and your sensationalist title for a second there i thought the world had lost all hope :v:
Because if Norway had descended into economic chaos... Good God, the thought is apocalyptic.
misleading thread title
Am I the only one who thinks that wine tastes like shit?
Fanny Josefsson Waller
seriously?
Probably Swedish, judging by her two surnames.
Am I the only one who thinks that wine tastes like shit?
Depends on the wine If you blanket all wine as one thing, you've probably never drank more than a single glass
This is truly a sad day for Norway, they will never recover from the winepocalypse. 11/11, never forget.
I once had grape juice sit in my fridge for so long that it turned into a sort of crude cooking wine.
Am I the only one who thinks that wine tastes like shit?
yes [editline]11th November 2011[/editline]
I once had grape juice sit in my fridge for so long that it turned into a sort of crude cooking wine.
Since cold temperatures inhibit yeast growth, that must have been a hell of a long time.
This was great, thanks OP.
Am I the only one who thinks that wine tastes like shit?
You've probably only drunken the cheap shit.
seriously?
what?
Norway just can't catch a break.
Am I the only one who thinks that wine tastes like shit?
I don't know how to interpret the ratings for this post so I'll rate dumb for "no". :v:
OH MY GOD THIS IS SO BAD MY FAMILY HAS NO wine TO DRINK
Better bring out the akevitt then, and not the cheap stuff either!
Am I the only one who thinks that wine tastes like shit?
I don't like alcohol in general. I've had some high tier stuff too.
