• Google's new design?

What happened to Google? I just visited to search something up and I noticed something different. Only the logo shows up at first, then... The other text fades in. Amazing, right? Also, another change is that there is no "Google Search" or "I'm Feelin' Lucky" buttons anymore. Anyhow, I was just wondering if you guys noticed it. EDIT: It might just be Google Chrome? EDIT 2: Not just Google Chrome, confirmed video: EDIT 3: Explanation for all this confusion: http://features.csmonitor.com/innovation/2009/10/30/googles-fade-in-homepage-confuses/ Here's a quote, for you lazy members:
The “bucket testing,” visible only to select groups of Google users (and even to select browsers – this blogger sees it on one but not another, on the same machine) has been going on since early this month. A few variations have been seen, including a completely blank version that TechCrunch first wrote about in early October, and a more recent one that, laughably, includes the line “This space intentionally left blank.”(Were people really that confused? Were they getting to the page and leaving without searching?)
EDIT 4: Here's to prove my own point, a screencap of my Google screen:
Yes there is, your cracked boy.
what? i just see elmo
I don't have it.
I think it might just be Google Chrome...
What the hell are you talking about? The only strange thing I see is that Google's logo has been from Sesame Street for the past few days.
I've got Chrome and it looks as it always has, I think they moved the Search and Feeling Lucky buttons though, I seem to remember those being on the side, and I do think there was a short time they weren't there. I don't know what you're on about with the fading.
It only happens sometimes when google is back to "normal". I don't think it works when it has the icon in the previous size that it was - there's subtle size differences in the recent google logo and the special google logos / the old google logos. Also, the design for the website varies differently from region to region.
I see it, if you don't move your mouse the screen will stay blank with the search bar and logo but the buttons arn't there and it says "Space intentionally left blank." I'm using chrome.
Yea I just see some red furry shitface, the two buttons are still there. All is right with the world.
Nothing strange for me...
I just checked in chrome, none of that happened and I still have the two buttons
I get elmo, thats the only thing different, I wouldn't know I use the toolbar on firefox.
Everything is normal. I use Chrome. Because it's better. :smug:
Does this for me too, using Firefox.
Added a Youtube video on the OP for proof. Also, here's a link explaining the whole thing. http://features.csmonitor.com/innovation/2009/10/30/googles-fade-in-homepage-confuses/
I see the buttons, and for those in UK go to: http://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en to stop it redirecting.
Had this on both FF and IE, pretty nice stuff
I think it might just be Google Chrome...
no, i'm on chrome, is normal for me.
The hell are you talking about, my google has Elmo on it.
no, i'm on chrome, is normal for me.
Maybe you could read the thread... and use some capital letters.
not doing it for me
For those that it's not working, are you on Google.COM and what browser are you using?
Does this prove my point? This is my screencap.
For those that it's not working, are you on Google.COM and what browser are you using?
What kind of retard would not type in google.com to begin with, and i'm using Firefox.
Wierd, appears I've been "bucketed" for .com and not for .co.uk. EDIT: It redirects to your native homepage for some, .ru, .co.uk etc. I was just wondering if it were .com specific. Using that url it doesn't redirect.
For those that it's not working, are you on Google.COM and what browser are you using?
yea firefox
What kind of retard would not type in google.com to begin with, and i'm using Firefox.
Retards that live in a different country...? There's Google UK and Google Korea too, you know. The bucket thing doesn't work on me with either of those websites either.
I went to google.co.uk for fun and now it's working, lol
Interesting, maybe they just gave it to people with Wave? Do you have Wave Kougar? Actually, why do I care so much.
