I really liked DR3 though?
Gameplay wise DR3 was really good, but the characters were boring and the city was too grey and dull.

Considering Frank literally uses #frankisback, I think we can safely assume its a sequel.

i've been hearing both, but i think the main rumor is that it's a remake of 1, but you're also able to explore the rest of willamette.

Well as Solo said above it does make since that it's a sequel but you're back there for reasons such as making a movie about it but then shit goes down. That sounds perfect to me :v: now for Capcom to make the first backwards compatible

No Frank and Isabella made it out alive and told there story, Special forces cleaned up the town afterwards.
Pretty hyped. Dead Rising was my first 360 game and one of my all-time favorites.
So this takes place 16 years after the Willamette incident at a rebuilt memorial mall? Interesting. So it actually is a sequel and not a reboot or remake.
Also, why does Frank look younger than he did in Case West? Which took place only like 5 years after the first game?

This is confusing me as well. I mean they made him older in Off The Record and I know that isn't canon, but between DR1 and DR2 was a good amount of years, moreso if we take into account other things from DR3 like [sp]Katie being 18[/sp]. This would have to have taken place before DR3, maybe after DR2. As much as I'd like to see Frank's conflict with [sp]Isabella after DR3[/sp] it wouldn't make much sense with the age.
Either that or this is just an actor playing Frank's role, which would be pretty fucking stupid
