• Skype Caller ID - Rip off for me?
    16 replies, posted
Alright, so recently I purchased a Skype unlimited US and Canada calling plan for my account. Well, I'd also like to set up a caller ID number to go with it so that if I call someone I know they will know it is me. Well, turns out I have to put in my mobile phone number, receive a text and text them back the verification code. Sounds simple enough, right? Wrong. I need Skype credits to do this, about 20 cents worth to be exact. That would be all fine and dandy, if I could add about 1 dollar Skype credits to my account. However, I can only add 10 dollars at once. What a ripoff. I'm not happy with this, and I was wondering if anyone knew how to get a free Skype outgoing number, or a site where I can get a 1 dollar credit code for Skype. The Paypal account I payed with is Jck0ed@hotmail.com if that means anything to anyone here. You can also EMail me there if you have something else to say that you don't want to say here for some reason.
Why didn't you just make a google voice account...? Free, and it does the same shit.
Google Voice has unlimited texting/calling to and from US & Canada. You can also get a number within in your area code. And you can either make a personal number or have it set so its your cellphone number for $10 I think
Google Voice activates a certain phone and forwards calls to it...

Don't really know what to say besides pay the Skype Credits..?
BWAHAHAHA, skype.
BWAHAHAHA, skype.
I have the unlimited calling plan, I just need texts to activate a cell.
I have a Google Voice. Calls go both to my cell and my Skype. What you can do is have Google Voice call your Skype then transfer it to the number you want to call. This has the caller ID show as your Google Voice number. [editline]30th June 2011[/editline] And with Skype and my huge toolchain, I ordered pizza with Autotune. I love Skype.
