Explanation of Rugby Union.
Rugby union, or simply rugby, is a full contact team sport which originated in England in the early 19th century. One of the two codes of rugby football, it is based on running with the ball in hand. It is played with an oval-shaped ball on a field up to 100 metres (330 ft) long and 70 metres (230 ft) wide with H-shaped goal posts on each goal line.
There are 15 players per team made up of 8 forward whose job it is too get the ball up to the try line and score. Forwards are usually bigger, heavier players but not as fast as backs. There are 7 backs made up of wingers and full backs and central players. Backs are usually faster, lighter players who usually kick and finish plays to score.
Games last 80 minutes not including injury time. The game is broken into two halves of 40 minutes. A try(scoring) is worth 5 points and after a try is scored the team may take a conversion for an extra 2 points. A drop goal may also be scored which is worth 3 points.

Also this is a perfect way to sum up the game
I like rugby because there's respect. If a ref makes a call, the players accept it and get on with the game, none of this getting in the referee's face bullshit. People will turn each other upside down and pile drive them into the Earth and then get up and get on with the game.
Fuck a twisted ankle requiring being carried off on a stretcher, they stop play for unconsciousness or copious bleeding.
Less whining, less drama, more play.
what do you consider a good sport? typing?
I had a friend that played rugby. I took him to our works dodge-ball tournament and he dominated. Therefore i like rugby. Makes people good at dodge-ball.
I couldn't give a shit about rugby. Football FTW.
I like this new sport called, "Fast Threads", it's usually very inconsistent and the players are all over the place, leading to endless amounts of hilarity.
A lot of people I used to know played it, sounds like a fun sport.
I think it's a horrible sport.
what's that don't you mean football :downs:

Disregard the innuendo. thank you.
i like because it's one of the few sports scotland is ok at.
I like to play rugby but I still enjoy football equally as much.
I like watching it. One of my cats is named after Jonny Wilkinson.

Gaming is ironically considered a sport...
Even jump rope is considered a sport. They even have competitions for it!

Some people find some sports boring. The fact is, no one truely hates all sports.
It has very little to do with being terrible playing them.
Don't like Rugby at all. But that's only because the people who played it at school were the tossers who thought they were really tough. Still, it's not like I'd like to go out there and get tackled and roughed about by them or anyone else really.
So if you like it whose you're favorite team?
I find rugby pretty... Meh. They take it really seriously here (Northern Ireland), but it always seemed a little overrated to me.
I started a fight with a rugby player once.
