[release] Russia should not fear the possibility of military action. On the contrary, there should be a strong military presence in nearby countries. This was in an interview , "Russian News Service," said Chairman of the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church on Church and Society Vsevolod Chaplin. "I think we should think today about the powerful military presence of Russia in all areas where people ask for protection from orange experiments of various kinds of color revolutions. Even if Russia should be involved in the fighting, do not need to fear today. Army must finally give a real job, "- said the priest. At the same time send Chaplin recommended to fans of the army of "virtual war". "Net hamster might well have been sent to the operating forces. Those who will survive, perhaps, become men," - he said. "We need to give people in the hands of the present case, to make them feel that life is not limited to the Internet space that surrounds life is complicated enough, and it is necessary to participate in real, rather than rushing mortal words on the Internet, posing as a hero, whom you in fact, far from being "- added Chaplin.[/release] http://rus.delfi.ee/daily/abroad/predstavitel-rpc-rossijskoj-armii-nuzhno-nakonec-dat-nastoyaschuyu-rabotu.d?id=63743304&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+rusdelfinews+(DELFI+-+RUS+DELFI+news) Keyboard warriors?

broken english
...did you use Google translate? I'm only asking because that text makes no sense.
What else russian news source. Sorry.
I wouldn't wish Russian military conscript service upon my worst enemies, nevermind some guy who spends most of their time on the Internet; that'd be practically a death sentence for them. The military doesn't make men tbh, it filters them and breaks the rest. Then, in war, it sets about breaking the men.
The pen is mightier than the sword...
Russian Orthodox Church: Enemy of Social Change Since 1589 [editline]7th January 2012[/editline]
...did you use Google translate? I'm only asking because that text makes no sense.
Let me roughly translate this broken English into something understandable Russian Orthodox Church wants forced conscription into the military of people who play FPS games, to "Show them the real world" EDIT Also, in direct response to the words of the Chaplin: Watch out guys, were dealing with a badass over here.
"Net hamster might well have been sent to the operating forces."
Poor hamsters :( [sp]Google translate makes everything better[/sp]
As an Orthodox Christian myself, I've heard that the Russian Church is kinda out there compared to the other Churches. Mostly as a tool of the gov't/too hardline. Even in America though a lot of our Priests are conservative; even the young ones. Depends though, I've heard of Orthodox Priests as pro-gay rights.

I guess what the chaplin says kind of goes like: "I think that we need to look into potential Russian military pursuits in neighboring regions, where people are asking for security from political experiments, from various populist revolutions. Should Russia participate in military action, we should not fear this. Our army should finally be put to some use." "This network of hamsters is fully capable of being deployed in warzones. Those of them who survive, probably, will become human beings." "We need to give people real guns, so that they understand the scope of life goes beyond the internet, and that the life around them is complicated enough. They must be active in reality, and not cast themselves into the internet, imagining themselves as heroes, while in reality they are far from it." Or network hamsters or something whatever this guy is a fucking idiot and I'm fucking illiterate.
Well tbqh video games do desensitize people to war. In-fact, that's been a huge issue with the US military's recruitment programs. It works nice, because there's a huge demand for fresh recruits. But the flip side is the immaturity level is lower than ever, to the point where they need to rework boot camp. People run in wanting to shoot shit up, and that's not how military organizations work. Military is about discipline first, because the hierarchy of command needs to be in-tact for missions, sorties, etc. to actually operate properly. [editline]8th January 2012[/editline] Today we even romanticize war being "gritty," with games like Battlefield 3 and movies like The Hurt Locker. That's not to say by one bit that we are now all killing machines - of course not, we all have morals in-tact - but, for living in a time when we look at things so progressively, we're really struggling to realize War for what it is.
where people ask for protection from orange experiments
ahahahahahahahahhaah
The chairman is saying that Russia's army needs to be given a real job (duty), and that duty is to protect the people against things that are unorthodox. That's the best way I can translate it, it's pretty confusing even in Russian :v:
