(CNN)President-elect Donald Trump has yet to take office, but pollsters have already begun to dip their toes into the next presidential cycle.
A USA Today/Suffolk University poll released Wednesday found Democratic and independent voters lukewarm on a handful of party leaders and most excited for "someone entirely new."
Just over 22% of respondents said Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Party's failed candidate in the 2016 election, would excite them, while almost 15% said her running in 2020 would "make no difference" and about 62% said she should not run.
Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders both fared about twice as well as Clinton, but still failed to elicit excitement from a majority of respondents.
After publicly toying with the idea of running in 2020, Biden said he had no intention to do so. If he were to run and win, the current vice president would be 78 years old at the time of taking office. Sanders would be 79, and Trump would be 74.
That fact that about a 1/3rd of respondents think she is a viable option for 2020 is insane.
I'm glad the majority have sense not to run Hillary, but I'm still astounded that there's still fervent supporters

Tulsi Gabbard. After this election, I'm wary that a young minority Hindu woman would get slaughtered, and we have yet to see her handle herself in debates or the public eye too much, but she'd be a fantastic face for a new progressive Democratic party.
Plus it'd bring me great happiness to watch the GOP be forced to attack an Iraq War veteran and National Guard Major who decided to surrender her post as an elected official to serve her country on the front lines. Especially after the embarrassment of attacking McCain over his POW status.
Principled, young, successful, and clearly dedicated to the country. But people would just freak out that she didn't give her oath of office over the Bible and crucify her anyways.

How is that insane
Believe it or not many democrats actually really liked Hilary and continue to do so. They're just not the demographic of this forum
Also what, did you expect 100% of democrats to want her gone? That's pretty naive. 62% is still an overwhelming majority

If they run her in 2020 she will fucking lose and the Democratic party will probably internally combust.
The DNC needs to rebuild and realign it's efforts, not throw in the candidate that lost to Donald Trump.
I think the Dems could run using a dog or a cat in 2020 and win.
If Hillary ran again in 2020 I'd probably have a goddamn stroke at the stubbornness of the DNC elites. She'd lose, though - you can't win the primaries if 62% of your voter base doesn't even want you to run. Hell, Biden was doing better than Hillary in early polls before he explicitly said he wasn't running.

i'd like to see Tammy Duckworth at some point, purely for the novelty of the GOP trying to attack the first ever woman, Asian-American, double-amputee, Iraq War veteran, flag-themed president without mentioning any of these things
it would be like advanced minesweeper
i wouldn't be surprised, it was her turn after all
Where did this idiotic saying even come from? Literally the only people I've ever heard say this were conservatives.
Hopefully the new person will be more to left of both Obama and Hilary.

I wouldn't hold Kanye to his word on just about anything he could ever say.

Don't worry, they'll just hammer her into the ground with good old fear-mongering.

Didn't she say something stupid like "the voters decide what is true" in regards to something about her opponent for office, indirectly condoning vigilante/mob rule.

I've heard numerous Democratic women in real life unironically state that.
Not to mention Hillary will never get another candidate like Trump to run against. How fucking unlikable do you have to be to lose to Donald fucking Trump.

fuck how did I forget about that you're right :v:
Why not Bill Gates?
He's a nice guy but not presidential material imo. Then again Donald Trump isn't so I don't fucking know anymore.
Nobody's suggested Elizabeth Warren yet? She's fucking perfect.
I hope the next person campaigns with, "It's my turn now!"

tusli gabbard isn't eligible to run for president, sadly
hmmmmmm......better run hillary again!!!
If they run Hillary again, I will be giving up on the Democratic Party entirely, because they clearly aren't listening to anyone living in the real world anymore. At that point, fuck it, I'll start my own liberal party and run for office personally. My platform will be anti-trust breakups of large corporations, purging corruption in Washington at all levels, leveling taxes, fixing the healthcare system for real this time not some Romneycare-but-credit-Obama bullshit, and preventing global warming from taking out half our population. Secondary priorities will be demilitarization of the police, dismantling the surveillance-state apparatus, a New Deal-like jobs program with a target of zero unemployment, and undoing all the damage the GOP has done after 2017.
I hope the next person campaigns with, "It's my turn now!"
if the next democratic candidate doesn't have the campaign slogan "hindsight is 2020" then it'll all be a waste

Why not? I see her mother was born in Indiana but don't really have any details other than that. Was she not a US citizen?
