The issue is that it's more acceptable to do it to a Mosin Nagant 91/30 than it is to a Karabiner 98 Kurz or a Swiss K31 pictured below. The Russians were doing this to the standard MN 1891 during the Russian Revolution just because it was that much easier to conceal while firing a full sized round against the military. It's also good at setting clothes on fire since the barrel doesn't hold all the gunpowder like it normally would and some of it escapes before it burns. This way you keep your original rifle while still having an Obrez from an already destroyed rifle. I would cut down a 91/30 to a 16" Barrel if I had a spare one I could do that with to make it a carbine, and so I get some extra experience involving refinishing before attempting the Garand in the color of beech wood.

M24/47 Mausers go for $150-$275, so for $25 more grab one off of gunbroker with good furniture.

I need some help identifying an AK, an RPK specifically. on the import stamp it says "CSI ONT CA". under the site rail it says "Nornico", but some of the site rail covers the stamp. I can't take the rail off atm as I don't have the tools. I can't find anything on google about it, can anyone help me out?
