http://archive.is/BipaI http://archive.is/hU2Pw Imgur link to apparent /pol/ posts (couldn't find the actual posts to archive, treat with caution) http://imgur.com/giF8j7i,xVtue2E,3gpupzp,DPHwPNE The operation still seems to be in its infancy; I've still decided to make sure the roots of it are known in case something biased like Breitbart covers it.
Why is this news? When are you guys going to realize you don't need to start a thread for every single /pol/ meme?? [editline]10th January 2017[/editline]
The operation still seems to be in its infancy; I've still decided to make sure the roots of it are known in case something biased like Breitbart covers it.
I mean fucking come on, get over yourself man.

If this thread wasn't posted, someone else would post it unironically.

Nobody can deny that the right has a better handle on the internet than the left. Mainly because the right are happy to resort to shit like this, which can easily convince the planet's idiots that the left are out to get them.

Sometimes they're clever, other times they're divs that unironically throw Nazi salutes.
Weak memes, not nearly as good as #DraftOurDaughters
That's debatable. Sometimes they're clever, other times they're divs that unironically throw Nazi salutes.
That's the joke of it all, neither the 'left' nor 'right' are monolithic entities, they're comprised of millions upon millions of individual human elements. Usually the ones with enough forethought to try to coordinate things like these aren't the ones hailing Hitler in public.

Right wing media will happily spread the news that the left is "up to no good again!" across Facebook, and congratulations! They've successfully managed to smear the left.

[editline]10th January 2017[/editline] I mean fucking come on, get over yourself man.
It's worth being aware of hoaxes and fake developments that can affect modern rhetoric, and ousting them as the frauds they are before they pick up speed. This goes for both the left and right side, without bias.
I wonder if there's just the one guy who isn't completely braindead making these low-effort clinton campaign styled twitter images, or if they've put together a guide to copying the style and shared it back then. It's certainly more professional and believable than their other "master troll" this year

Whether that means attempting to crack down on fake news and severely punishing the people who spread it, or even taking advantage of this phenomenon for its own purposes. Or doing both. Doing nothing isn't going to work in this situation. It's a struggle between the two sides, and one must come out on top of the other. We're also going to have to start understanding that in a lot of cases, education doesn't work on the broad masses. They're not logical, patient, and willing to learn; most of them don't look beyond headlines, slogans, and rhetoric. So we can't rely purely on the argument of "just educate them". You can't teach people who put feels before reals and aren't willing to listen to details, complexities, etc. It's going to take a strong game of clever manipulation on the left's part in order to overcome the right-wing, which does indeed have the fake news/Internet propaganda market cornered.
this is literally just /pol/'s weekly hashtag trolling last time it was #PissForEquality or something there was also #EndFathersDay but nobody cared about that
Remember "Rape Melania"?
No, because I'm smart enough to recognize obvious bullshit on the internet and not let it take up any space inside my head.
Great! However, fake news such as this tend to spread across Youtube and Facebook, and people there might not be as sharp...
Great! Unfortunately 99% of the people who will fall for /pol/ memes aren't browsing Facepunch, so we're all just wasting each other's time reporting on things that we all understand already..
No, because I'm smart enough to recognize obvious bullshit on the internet and not let it take up any space inside my head.
Congratulations, that's you. You're one individual in a country of around 325 million people. Meanwhile, there's millions of Americans who routinely fall for false news articles and who actually trust sources like Breitbart, InfoWars, Liberty Writers News, etc. And that's a problem, especially with the ones who unfortunately have the ability to vote.
Great! Why reply?
So you mean that your only reason to post in this thread is to complain about this thread existing? Why reply?
In hopes of dissuading people from continuing to flood SH with meaningless /pol/ memes?
If you're upset about seeing the same things over and over again, you might want to have a 4 year break because this is how is going to be from now on
I'm slowly coming to that unfortunate realization..

Unfortunately 99% of the people who will fall for /pol/ memes aren't browsing Facepunch, so we're all just wasting each other's time reporting on things that we all understand already..
I'd like to think that it's due in part to us spreading awareness to each other about such things. Why reply if you don't want to see it? Is it that hard to just, idk, not click on a thread? Good on you for being such an elightened, more intellectually capable person than everyone else that you'll never fall for "a /pol/ meme". I looked at the twitter feed there and tbh a lot of those are well designed enough to look real and a good few of the tweets are pretty believable if I wasn't so skeptical of bullshit.
