Interesting but at the end of the day, jobs shouldn't be a factor when deciding the defense budget.
The military industrial complex survives on never-ending wars.
In other words. In order to keep this machine alive and for it to grow larger. There must be war.
The machine is very hungry right now.
People losing jobs is a horrible excuse.Tough Shit, you should spend the money on hiring the people to do something actually useful , like build up our infrastructure and not on jobs that don't teach you any civilian skills.

"Yeah fuck those people who got hired during the height of the war during the recession, should of gotten a job in the civilian market"
Because you do know, people don't always have a choice in jobs especially during 2007-2010, with trade jobs like these that don't require college education.
It's an interesting video, but I hear a lot of excuses and non-adapatation on the company side. The last segment felt like nothing other than: "Man, re-training people is a pain. And expensive. And takes time! That's bad."
Companies want to live in a static world with a flat line of demand; but that will never be the case. The dynamic is a lot more violent with defense companies, but I don't feel it's the government's job to fix companies who can't handle this reality. In no way is this a pleasant thing, but you have to question if you desire your taxes to fix this issue - whether you see it as a company or a job thing.

I think he's saying, don't be scared about losing Military jobs, put the money into infrastructure jobs and hire those people for that work.
The problem is that congressmen lobby for it because no one wants to be the places getting cut.
It's lots of corruption.
