i got caught with about the same amount and i got $800 in fines, had to take classes, 40 hours of community service, 3 days in jail, and a year of probation. weed laws r fucked

Getting caught with that much weed can result in much worse than a few hundred dollars of fines, in various parts of the world. It only sounds weird here because the disparity between the street value and the resulting fine was so explicit

I would presume that the severity of the punishment probably has something to do with the fact that he has previous convictions including possession with intent to supply.

Because I already had a caution, I was fined £105 and a 6 month conditional sentence for 0.1g of Cannabis at the age of 18. Do I get a news story please too

I got caught by the Elgin IL police for .5g and was subsequently charged $400 and had to do 8hrs of drug classes. Doing this dropped the class C misdemeanor charge. This was around 2006-2007. This totally reformed my ways since I smoke more than ever.

I sure wish they would legalize it already. I've seen more issues with alcohol than weed, and the issues I do see with weed seem to be violent crimes to steal stashes/etc which would go away if it were legal to buy. Silly.

It's a picture off the aftermatch from a local festival, and a truckload percentage of the teenagers there were puffing CO2 canisters, because lack of oxygen kicks you a mild and temporary high. People are always going to search for legal ways of getting high, just legalize Marijuana so people sit on their couches eating chips instead of frying their brains like this. And come to think of it, how the fuck can 0.01g of weed even be considered weed? That's not even enough for a joint, or hell I doubt it would be enough for a single decent bong hit. Guy could've claimed he'd gotten some dirt on him off the train, that's how little it is. Whoever did this investigation is a complete joke with a tiny set of dried out testies.

This happened in the UK? That's peculiar. I've never had problems with weed in the UK, and this is coming from someone who lived their entire life in a Eastern European shithole with drug laws tighter than a nun. To the point where this news title wouldn't sound out of place here. UK cops have always been chill as fuck, and never even bothered giving me a second look, even if I was obviously smoking weed. As such, I have to conclude that there is something else to this story.
