If you don't already know, the YouTube user, Micheal Copper, (AKA. Coppercab) has become one of the largest ranting phenomena of all time. For those who need a refresh on who he is, he's basically a 20 year old ginger who makes video rants claiming that he's leading a civil rights movement for red headed people. The content of his videos usually include screaming, spitting on his camera, and ranting like a disturbed lunatic.
The drama began on January the 14th, 2010, when our red headed baby posted a rant video in response to the popular TV show, South Park, who had recently made and episode depicting ginger jokes.

The video received an immediate response from trolls, who amplified young Copper's anger. As a result, since that fateful day, Coppercab has released over 50 videos of similar nature, some claiming that gingers are a discriminated minority, others claiming that St. Patrick's Day is a racist hate celebration, and even some claiming that the South Korean pop song "Gangnam Style" is an attempt from [I]North Korea[/I] to subliminally brainwash U.S Citizens.
Coppercab reached an all time low, when last year, he released a panic stricken plea for help, while apparently believing that the Miami Bathsalt Attack was the beginning of a zombie Apocalypse in the United States.

Now, here's to the question. Anyone who watches these videos can tell that if this is legitimate, this kid is a complete mental case. But recently, it has come to question of weather Copper is YouTube's biggest idiot, or YouTube's biggest troll-bait genius.
Coppercab is currently in a YouTube partnership, meaning that he receives a small portion of money for the amount of video views he has. He has received 90 million views on his first channel alone. This brings to question, of the possibility that Coppercab doesn't really believe the shit he's spewing. That he posts these videos in an attempt to get more views, and therein, more money.

i think initially he was a total idiot but then he realised he had gone viral and just started exploiting the shit out of it
He's not "really good at trolling YouTube" The majority of YouTubers are just fucking stupid. He doesn't have to put effort.

The first video MAY have been real. Then he noticed the amount of attention he was getting and decided to roll with it.
He fakes, stop giving him attention.

I pretty much agree with this but that tiny chance that his videos are actually completely serious make them way more funny.

It's been proven he was doing all this shit on purpose soon after his account was "hacked" and he put a video up on some other account of him dancing in shorts or some shit, in order to retrieve his "lost" account.
Not that it's really that important.
Answer: Started out real, got popular. Took advantage of it and now "trolls".
