So i've been playing guitar for a number of years now, and on the rare occasion i've played with some random people. But i've never had the opportunity to join a band. Does anyone have any idea's on how to find a band interested in a guitarist?
Go to your local music store, put a note up saying you're interested in looking for a band, include contact details.
If you're still in school, ask some other musicians, there has to be more than one guitarist at a school.
Put an ad in the newspaper (Metallica started this way)
Go to local gigs, might hit lucky with meeting someone who needs a guitarist or wants to jam.

My college has a register of all musicians, even those not studying music, to make forming bands easier. Try and get something like that going?
well i'm only 16. and i live in perth... the biggest dead end city in the world!!! Yeh i'll probably put some flyer's up at the music shop or something.
