I have a theory that this kind of dialogue is what a committee of old people came up with to simulate the language of modern social networks. Ya know, awkward but cutesy phrases and sentences that some people are fond of in their circles - those ones. But with a touch of corporate focus-group-driven brilliance.
The lead facial animator for this game was apparently a cosplayer/promotional model with zero prior experience in game development. Granted, it is a group fuckup, but the head of said group is entirely unqualified.

That sounds interesting, what's the source ? I'd like to find out as much about the development process / developers as possible, since the whole thing is quite a beautiful disaster.
It's a gorgeous game that plays well, but then you have those facial animations...
