Hey everyone, just lookin for a little help today.
You see; my father just coughed loudly and it was followed quickly by a loud scream. Startled, I ran from my room to his aid. It appears that he coughed and somehow fractured or hurt his left rib in some way. He describes it as if every time he tries to move, it knocks the wind out of him. I need help. I have already told him to go to the doctor and he wants that to be last resort. I'm sixteen and have tried many different sites and tried to find remedies. (Before anyone asks, no he is not old...he's 40) and this is a totally new experience for everyone in my home. Can anyone help me with this? Has anyone had a similar experience who can tell me what they did to fix it...because I feel pretty damn bad sitting here while he screams in pain every time he tries to move.

He probably broke a rib. Bring him to a doctor, have them give him some pain killers, then let it heal up.

Your best bit is probably to get off your computer and call 911. Get this man to a hospital!

Well if he's going to be tacanio then give him some ibuprofen and tell him not to move. If he injures himself more it's his own damn fault.
Depending on the severity of the rib fracture, he could be in for some serious trouble if he doesn't get professional help quickly. OP I HIGHLY suggest calling 911 pronto.
If he's short of breath, he could have punctured his lung.
Fuck him and his cheap personality, get him to the hospital. He'll thank you later.

I'm really good with ribs, and I would suggest you to go to the Doctor.
He probably moved his rib when he coughed, now they're pressuring on the lungs, it might go away.. but to be safe, you should go to the ER.
Take him to the doc. If he complains about money, tell him that it'll cost more if he gets an infection and/or funeral charges. It'll work.
