This is a music video I made for Saskatoon band Slow Down Molasses. It takes place on an ocean and is primarily made with paper and books. I know what you're thinking "Andrei, but books is paper." I would reply..."I'm aware of that, but sometimes the spines are leather or fabric." You'd then call me some name that was more clever than anything I could come up with myself, so I'd cry in bitter defeat...so let's avoid that conversation if we can.
Anyway Enjoy...or don't it's really up to you.
Andrei Feheregyhazi.
This is fantastic!
It really looks surreal, like someones strange dream had come to life.
Wow, that was incredible! Excellent work!
Do you think you'd be able to reveal any of the techniques you used to do this?

Thank you...and I would be able to share some techniques. I suppose the main one would be hard work and lots of it, but other than that, actual techniques.
Everything was done in after effects and photoshop. I collected a bunch of my own paper textures and also got some from websites such as Deviantart and CGtextures. Then I have atted it, have at ited, haved at it??? What ever the past form of "have at it" is.
I created the bits in photophop, using either the existing textures with the quick select tool or a brush to maintain that ripped paper feel, then imported them into after effects.
Most of it was fairly simple from that point. I made all the layers 3d and animated them in the 2.5 d space that after effects has...used the new awesome light fade off available in After effects cs 5.5 and haved at it again.
Everything was animated with keyframes and took a lot of time.
Does this help any? If not ask and I can elaborate further.
