They might flirt with the boy you like. Completely reasonable.
Hardmode will be brutal :v:

Because they're talking to senpai. That is unacceptable.
Haha, I can get over the creepiness of the game. Some mechanics have a lot of thought put into them. But then there are things like panties that help you keep your sanity that make me roll my eyes.

it isnt really supposed to be taken seriously in that regard
It's a game completely based around anime tropes, either you love it or you hate it. I enjoy seeing the developer's progress, including the dry and unsettling humor he includes in his demonstrations. It also helps inspire me to try and make progress in my own amateur endeavors.
Yenderry* simulator
But I don't want the vacuum blood cleaner, I want the giant robot
I have nothing with anime at all, but this game is most certainly gaining my attention.

It doesn't have to be one or the other. Think of how many other pieces of media you enjoy that have a mix of serious and funny elements. Especially games and their mechanics.
Damn what engine is this running on?
Unity

This is seriously shaping up to be one of the best, most intensive, and most intimate stealth games.
I remember when he was posting on /v/ and while the concept was cool, no one believed he'd be able to follow up on it; just another ideas guy. I am so glad that turned out to be wrong.

And yet nobody will play it probably because they think it's "torture porn".

im pretty sure the cleaning robot is a coverup for the deadly robot mecha.
There needs to be a clip of him saying, "Oops, I'm a baka." somewhere in the game
The girl popping up out of nowhere scared the shit out of me.
So far this is reminding me of Hitman Blood Money but you play as an Animu lady :v:

Well good because that's exactly what the game is going for.
umm why is there no anime club?
umm why is there no anime club?
because your reputation would drop to the lowest possible level and you'll have no chance of getting senpai.
umm why is there no anime club?
because this is a school in Japan not the US

That cello case is funny as hell though. Now we need a El Mariachi/Desperado Easter Egg.

It seems like this game's constantly caught between being a joke and being serious and I'm not sure it actually blends well in execution.
Like, it starts with the "Simulator" half of the title that's used by a lot of "ironically terrible" joke games these days. But then you find out the gameplay is actually very fleshed-out and the author is very serious about depicting the protagonist as a psychopath and not some romantic "anything for love" kind of deal. But then you read about panty buffs and all that seriousness flies out the window and is replaced by otaku campiness. But then you read about the dev being actually conflicted about the name because he wants the game to be taken seriously, but is worried about name recognition getting lost.
IMO it would be better off if it just picked a tone and went with it, or at least cut out those overtly campy/low-brow elements and make it a contrast of saccharine anime high school life and legitimately disgusting protagonist. Otherwise I think you need some Metal Gear Solid levels of "oh that cooky creator - classic!" to get any significant amount of people on board with a setting that's this confused about being serious or being deliberately silly and campy.

Guys this is what I've heard people say about this game. It's gotten a LOT of bad, horribly misinformed press.
