Commissions open for fantasy creatures, OCs, or landscapes. Please PM your order. Do not post requests in the thread itself. I will only post updates concerning orders here. Art Examples: Blackchimera on Sheezyart (http://blackchimera.sheezyart.com/) / Ollychimera on DeviantArt (http://ollychimera.deviantart.com/) How to Order: (PM ONLY. Do not post orders in this thread.) For creatures/OC's, just state/describe the animal/OC you would like and the kind of pose you would like it in, as well as the style and media (listed below) in your pm. For landscapes, try to be as descriptive as you can and provide reference pictures. Rules for Orders: 1. Please DO NOT alter the picture once you receive it. This includes removing my signature. (You MAY resize for avatar usage, but that is all.) 2. Do not claim the picture as your own work Style Open for Commissions: - Realistic - Cartoon/Manga - Traditional Asian (Chinese/Japanese-style brush painting) Media Open for Commissions: - Photoshop - Black and White (Pencil or pen) - Marker - Colored pencil Commissions start at a base price of $10, but may be raised depending on the time and difficulty required to finish. You will be notified ahead of time in such cases. Order List (Spots Open: 2): 1. GreenDolphin 2. 3.
No offense, but I don't think your skill is worth the price.
Then don't even bother posting and telling me so. It's rather discouraging. Also, please consider this: For example, if it takes me 4 hours to finish one picture, I'm getting paid much less than minimum wage since I'm only charging $10.
This would be much better suited to be posted on devientart or the likes, I'm sure people would pay for your stuff there. As for me, I agree with johanz up there. Though considering you don't want us to post if we don't like your work (Which no one does art that everyone likes, it's impossible) would you rather us look at it objectively and compare the quality and level of detail to other artists?
I've already posted on da and sheezyart. I'd rather people accept my art for my style. I'm just trying to make some money off of something I'm extremely good at. I have a perfectionist complex, and that is why I'd rather people who don't like my art to just go away without saying anything. I like to correct myself.
I'm extremely good at. I have a perfectionist complex, and that is why
Perfect at? Really? I checked your DA gallery and none of that stuff is nearly perfect. It's either furry stuff, or unproportional stuff that tries to be realistic. If you want to draw for money, get good at it. Right now you're nowhere near the good level.
I said extremely good, not perfect you idiot.
I'd say, average at max. If that's extremely good, I am disappointed in your very low standards.
Forget I even said anything. Please close my thread.
Bye, we'll be waiting when you get better at drawing. (User was banned for this post ("Encourage and Advise" - daijitsu))
You're good but theres another mass of artists on there as good and better than you at similar things. The real animal ones sadly let you down a bit. Good luck selling your art.
hi greendolphin
Guys please try to not rip this new user apart. BlackChimera is obviously new here. Also I love your artwork. You're very good and have major future potential in your art. I guess I would probably like to ask for a commission.
Bye, we'll be waiting when you get better at drawing.
nice constructive criticism bro
nice constructive criticism bro
I wasn't critiquing anyone in that post. [editline]12:52AM[/editline] Anyway, what can you do with a commission if you can't even alter it?
Encourage, advise, or shut the fuck up.
I'm sorry, but the truth is that this level of art skill is not worth $10 in todays professional art market. You could post some of your artwork here, conceptart.org, or cgsociety and ask for some critique on how to improve your work. Sure you can blame the skill level looks on your "art style", but in the eyes of a professional or just amateur art gazers, your work shows no base of understanding anatomy or light and shadow form concepts. When someone says they do not like your work for whatever reason, try not to alienate them from your fan base by telling them to stfu, but ask them why it is they do not like whatever it is you are doing, and use that information to improve on some of your pieces, or maybe just add to your collection based on what they suggest, so instead of losing potential customers you could actually gain some. Also, a commission example that is worth $10 based on skill effort placed into it rather than time.
Encourage, advise, or shut the fuck up.
Thank you. Also comparing BlackChimera's art skills with her age, I think she's very talented.
Lots of potential in your art. You've got the basics down very nicely, the coloring, shadows, all of it. I just think you really need some refining and more practice. Study anatomy, form, shape and the like.
Thank you. Also comparing BlackChimera's art skills with her age, I think she's very talented.
For her age yes, but not for todays art market.
That was done a long time ago, and was intended as a gift. I can draw people much better on regular paper. I can do just as well as the other person's art you posted in comparison. Please remove that from your previous post.
Fine I snipped it out of there, but you should know not to leave art that you are not proud of on your "portfolio" site.
I already deleted them.
Fine I snipped it out of there, but you should know not to leave art that you are not proud of on your "portfolio" site.
From her uploading author comments I think it was intended as a gift to someone she knows.
From her uploading author comments I think it was intended as a gift to someone she knows.
Doesn't really matter, everything on a portfolio site shows the quality of work that can be produced by the artist in the eyes of a consumer. One bad drawing is all it takes for someone to just close the tab on their browser. I've had a personal collection of art that I've been wanting to use on my portfolio site I'm making, but that went down from around 20, to just 4-6. By elimination of drawings/paintings that don't look well above average.
I'll agree that my 'portfolio' groupings I bring out and show to people are really trimmed down from my overall gallery, but I'm not ashamed of the things I don't bring out. I'll take hundreds of pictures at times and only pick two or three (at worst) because I like them enough to show them off, and even at that point I might not even keep those pictures for portfolio pieces. I say bring out what makes you proud to say "Yeah, I did this", and make sure to put up an array of different things to show the broad spectrum of my services, even if some aren't prime examples. If someone doesn't like your work, they'll move along anyways.
Actually I would to make a request. It's basically a stylish cool looking, but yet slightly cute dolphin. I'll leave the pose up to you. Details:

Generally cool (not colour) looking with a slight cuteness theme surrounding it.
The dolphin is mainly placed in an basic underwater environment, not on the surface or ground of it. So pose will relate to this, even if the environment isn't seen.
Colour/Texture:

Cartoonish/Manga styled.
The dolphin's skin is generally light green.
Colours are kept solid and clean, with basic shading.
Lineart is smooth and crisp.
Background can be empty (white), not very necessary or important. Though feel free to add one if you wish if you feel it works well with it.
Other information:

Coloured and completed with Photoshop.
I'm not bothered with the size too much, as long as it isn't small.
Similar example regarding style: http://i41.tinypic.com/13ztrva.jpg To be honest this is just the basics and I haven't thought of it through 100%. I generally would like to know what you are comfortable with. Seeing your previous work I'm confident to pay between $15-$20, and probably a bit more depending on the outcome.
Thanks. I'll add you to the list and update with the lineart once that's done so I can make sure it's what you want.
I said extremely good, not perfect you idiot. Go away.
You're far, FAAAAR away from extremely good. Perfect is something that has been yet achived by artists, but that is subjective as I define perfect as "it's a fucking photo, I mean, really, a fucking photo printed with *medium*!" Just grow a shell, make a list of your mistakes and start ruling them out like a real man, or go live in the kitchen for the rest of your life. Charging money is tad early. I've been doing shit for free and for few cans of beer, at most, just to get used to working with time limits and such. Doing shit free attracts more customers, less bitchers and no one won't be dissapointed by the lack of quality cause you are doing it for free. Well some are, but atleast they won't feel ripped-off. How old is OP anyway for her to be taleted for 'er age?
Sure is impolite and sexist in here. Give her a chance, we all had to start somewhere.
