i dont care about the infinitesimally small risk, a medium rare burger is amazing and i'm a healthy young man who can handle potential salmonella to enjoy that juicy red meat
Oh man yeah that's a pretty important safety tip. The thought of my burger still being pink on the inside makes my stomach churn.

Hey man I'll go a rare steak any day but minced meat should be cooked!
It's true though. A steak is not the same as a burger. The reason you can get away with eating a medium rare steak is because all the contaminants which are on the outside of the steak due to processing are cooked off. Hamburger, or ground meat, is exactly what it sounds like. A bunch of ground up meat. If you have one contaminated piece of beef that gets ground up with a batch of ground meat, that whole batch is contaminated. Just know that you run a higher risk of foodborne illness if you eat an undercooked burger.
its the only way you can cook a krabby patty though
Why the fuck would you want a rare burger in any capacity, it doesn't make it taste better. It's hamburger. It's literally the fuckups of all the other cuts ground up and not put into sausage. If you want a better burger mix in ground pork until about a quarter of it is oinkmeat.

okay i'm going to be completely honest here and say that until now i wouldn't have thought twice if i ate a burger that were "rare". good to know that it's actually dangerous.
Rare burgers taste bad anyway
What's the appeal of eating basically raw meat anyway? It repulses me.
I love a good burger.
What's the appeal of eating basically raw meat anyway? It repulses me.
supposedly it tastes a bit closer to if you hunted down the damn animal yourself and ate it, which some people like
There's always irradiated ground beef if you can't be bothered to cook it properly.
I've been to restaurants and asked if I want my burger rare. I chose well done; but I'm fine witha bit of pink in my burger. I always have my steak rare, unless it's a bit fancy like wagyu and I'll ask for what chef recommends.
i eat my burgers with a bit of pink to give my immune system a workout
if the meat is freshly-ground from non-disgusting cuts, cooking it medium rare is completely fine
ogres are not like cakes
i eat my burgers with a bit of pink to give my immune system a workout
thats really not giving your immune system a workout though. All it'll do is give a few nasty parasites eventually. [editline]25th August 2016[/editline] Hell what even is the point to medium rare to rare hamburgers anyways? Its not gonna be bloody, it won't have the same texture as a medium rare steak, and it'll probably taste the exact same as the cooked meat.
okay i'm going to be completely honest here and say that until now i wouldn't have thought twice if i ate a burger that were "rare". good to know that it's actually dangerous.
glad they could spread this fearmongering to you as well
What's the appeal of eating basically raw meat anyway? It repulses me.
It tastes good. Steak tartare is the best thing ever.
Eating a burger with a rare steak is okay. But I would never eat a burger with undercooked beef mince. The idea sickens me.
that looks fucking disgusting
That picture is a bad example yeah, but 5 minutes more on the grill and that would be droll worthy tasty.
What's the appeal of eating basically raw meat anyway? It repulses me.
Personally I love the taste of steak that's a bit pink on the inside, but if I hadn't grown up eating rare steak I probably wouldn't touch it as an adult. Pretty much like how most people won't try snails because they look gross but to me they're delicious because I've eaten them all my life. I would not touch an undercooked burger though.
supposedly it tastes a bit closer to if you hunted down the damn animal yourself and ate it, which some people like
Speaking from the perspective of somebody who has actually done this, I'd never eat venison in any state except well-done. If you've ever eaten a venison steak you might have noticed these neat little swirly patterns in the steak. One time my girlfriend actually remarked on it, said it looked really interesting and meanwhile I sat across from the table staring hard down at my steak wondering if I really cooked it all the way through. Those swirls? Yep, that's worms. They're waiting for you to eat the meat. They're doing this for a reason.
supposedly it tastes a bit closer to if you hunted down the damn animal yourself and ate it, which some people like
Humans didn't learn to use shit like grills for no reason.
What's the appeal of eating basically raw meat anyway? It repulses me.
in steak rare is ok because the meat is one complete piece. it all cooks and all germs die in it. Unless you get blue rare your not gonna have a problem. Rare steak is good because it can retain juices and make it more tender. i personally get medium rare. hamburger its not ok because the meat is all grinded up, its not a complete piece. it needs to be cooked all the way through or bad stuff happens.
I wouldn't eat any meat that still has red in it to be honest.
I wouldn't eat any meat that still has red in it to be honest.
RIP to all the pieces of meat you have raped
