What did you feel like when you finished your school? I just graduated today, and i'm going to a party later tonight. Even though i know we still will be together some time, i know that it wont be the same. So, what did you feel like, and are you still hanging out with some of your friends from your school? I don't know how the american system works, but in Denmark you graduate when you are 15-16 years old. I don't know what that's like in America.
School threads...Urgh.
I felt fucking relieved. UK school system failed miserably.
Indifferent. I still see my school friends quite regularly. So it wasn't much of a change for me.
in america you graduate highschool at 18. hanging out won't be the same you will keep some friends and others will be distant but its called growing up
very happy to get out of my high school 1 yr ag. worst school ever, staff act more like cops then teachers/admins and most of the kids do drugs.
The age when you graduate can vary greatly in the U.S. But, it's typically 17-18 for getting through (k-12). I graduated a few days ago. I feel totally indifferent. But maybe that's me, because I always feel indifferent about everything. I don't hang out with my high school friends, but that's because I don't like hanging out with anyone period.

You could use facebook to maintain contact with people.
I am going to graduate at 19th June, after that there is a local party and probably all my friends are there, so going to get wasted
I felt... odd. My school did both A-level and IB (international baccalaureate), and because of the different exam schedules, a lot of the people I liked had already finished by the time my exams rolled around. Given that in addition two of my friends, including my best friend, had left during year 12, I didn't really care too much about leaving. It seemed that everyone else had jumped ship anyway. As for dealing with leaving people behind, I kept contact with the people I was close with, and make a point of going back home as frequently as I can to avoid drifting. This is likely to be more of a problem when they all disappear off to university themselves, but Hell, it's not the end of the world.
pubic school
in soviet russia, school graduates from you
lol school [editline]02:58PM[/editline] get older
It felt like a fucking nightmare let me tell ya. You realize you're in college doing something much much harder in witch you'll be stuck for your next 5 to 8 years and when you reallize it, you're almost 30 years old, an adult and your teenager fun is no more and you'll be stuck in a shitty office in front of a computer for the rest of your life so that you can eat and have a propper life. Have a nice life! [editline]08:57PM[/editline]
I felt fucking relieved. UK school system failed miserably.
You should see how it works here in portugal...

Well I went to a state school rather than a public school, so yeah. We broke up on study leave last week, but we won't "graduate" until after we finish exams. We finish being tested in June, and then we're on holidays from July, but we don't get our results until August. But yeah, a bittersweet time. I keep thinking "Oh, when I see so-and-so at school I'll say x" but then I realise I have to organise things now :P
For all those who may get confused: In the UK private schools used to be called 'public schools'. They are now all called independent schools to try and cast off the idea of exclusivity that is associated with that name, but many people still informally refer to them as public schools rather than independent or private schools. Obviously this thread is referring to state schools rather than private ones. I went to a state comprehensive school and they were some of the worst years of my life. I still see some of my closes friends from there but not very often because everyone has gone to uni and such (which in a way makes them closer).
I 'graduate' on the 22nd of june, also my birthday I couldn't care less about keeping in contact with anyone, the odd one or two maybe
Leaving school is shit I never see anyone anymore and I don't see my uni friends cos we live 40 odd miles apart.
School threads...Urgh.
Someone's bitter about being expelled 10 years ago.
I left school early and got home taught and also taught myself 3D modelling and then went to college and did more 3D modelling after and now I'm doing a shit uni Course but I have a grant so it's not too bad.
I quit school back in October ,and I'm getting a GED shortly after my birthday.
I graduate in a couple weeks and its pretty depressing. A lot of the people I'm really good friends with are all going to go their separate ways and I won't see others at all.
When I finished school, I was happy. Good times.

Go California public schools. We officially have a budget of 14 pesos and a carrot.
