President Obama's science and technology advisor issued a memo to federal science agencies Friday to guide them in making rules to ensure scientific integrity.
The memo, which applies to executive branch departments and agencies such as the Department of Agriculture and the National Science Foundation, is "several steps in the right direction," said Al Teich, the director of science policy at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy John Holdren sent out the guidelines after a March 2009 memo by Obama emphasized the need for public trust in science. In that memo, Obama highlighted principles of scientific integrity that he said would be at the core of his administration's approach to science policy.

Hopefully now we won't get falsified documents about so called science from the government.
I'm waiting for hippies to barge in here and go "YEAH MAN SO MAYBE NOW PEOPLE WILL REALIZE WEED IS GOOD FOR YOU AND INHALING SMOG AND OTHER AIR PARTICULATES INTO YOUR LUNGS DESIGNED FOR CLEAN AIR IS AMAZING FOR YOUR HEALTH GEEZ GET YOUR SCIENCE RIGHT"
Perhaps they won't allcaps it but it will be to that effect.
Didn't the House just appoint a right-wing climate-denying energy industry shill to head the Science and Technology Committee? Scientific integrity in government, indeed.

No pot head is going to claim that pot is good for you, but it's not as bad as everyone says it is.

It's like they are intentionally trying to parody themselves.

I think your priority now is emphasizing the need for public trust in government :colbert:
It's like they are intentionally trying to parody themselves.
Satirize, you mean. But yeah, you can't have integrity when you have idiots running the show.
Especially with Congress' dangerously low approval ratings,
No pot head is going to claim that pot is good for you, but it's not as bad as everyone says it is.
Most potheads I know claim it's good for you. It does have its benefits but of course the other effects are bad.

Not only is it medicinally beneficial to the lives of thousands of people, but it has the properties to practically make nearly 50% of over the counter pharmaceuticals obsolete, if it were legal, that is. Thank god my state has wised-up enough to decriminalize and allow medical use.
If you really think weed can practically make 50% of drugs obsolete you are really fucking high dude

Glaucoma.
Ontopic: Maybe there will be more thirst for science like back in the 50s and 60s due to this.

You don't have to smoke it, if thats the only excuse that people have anymore for it not being good for you I don't know what else to say.
Simple to cook with, simple to make an extract from.
Not to mention Vaporizing is what most doctor's suggest medicating with anyhow. That's entirely different as you're not burning the plant matter at all but still getting the effects.

Yeah dude grasscity.com seems like a nonbias, reputable source
Show me some peer-reviewed papers, anecdotal evidence on a pro-weed site isn't proof

That was my major problem, because smoke is smoke, it still damages your brain cells and you're replacing oxygen with smoke. There is no way around that, that is how the human body works. It wouldn't affect people who smoke every so often but the ones who smoke ALL the time do end up fucked up in the end, albeit still pretty awesome.

It essentially said smoking marijuana had the same detriment to respiratory health as cigarette smoking.
