So I've decided to completely start doing Parkour when summer comes by. I can make really good vaults so far. My goals are to learn rolls and possibly a small wallrun.
There are NO other Parkour-artists around here, and no clubs doing it. So I'm depending on instructional videos, gymnastics class at school, and just running around by myself.
I'm also getting a good pair of sneakers when I get my money (What kind of brand does FP recommend?),
Anything else I should know? Please post and improve my start.
The parkour sub-forum?
First off, you really can't just go outside and start doing stuff, my suggestion is start an actual gymnastics course as soon as possible and learn the basics. After that, ask any of your instructors are able to teach you anything about parkour. That would be a good place to start.

There's a subforum for that?
You can do parkour without gymnastics, it's tricking that you should have gymnastic training for. I have done some parkour and it really just takes a few things. You should have guts, you should be strong, and you should be in shape.
I unfortunately am none of those...

No, there is a "discussion" in the lifestyles and hobbies subforum.

Oh how helpful, a forum that hasn't had a post in FOUR WEEKS.
Don't jump over a building in one leap, superman

I SO will travel across the WORLD to learn a sport :b
You will fall down. A lot.
Well, duh.
Don't do anything you are unsure if you can do or not. Never take a risk without considering the consequences.
Try not to land on your face.
WHY am I getting dumbs?
Also, someone yelled "Take it easy, spiderman" when I vaulted over a few things in a sequence on my way back from school.
You need to actually have some decent amount of upper body strength, which I'm going to guess you don't have.
There's literally nothing to know, just go out and do it.
edit.. actually, I lied, do no wear gloves whatever you do.

You say vaults, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case.

Because you look like an idiot.
If I saw some 14 year old kid jumping over random objects on my way back home I'm sure I'd laugh my ass off.

uhh, girls aren't supposed to be as heavy as men
uhh, girls aren't supposed to be as heavy as men
Of course not, but being able to lift a person of any sex is decent strength for most people I know.
Whatever, I can pull my own weight as well. Just checked.

Read the second line next time.
Also, even going NEAR guys is way to gay over here, so the only person I CAN lift right now is my girlfriend. As in... A friend who is a girl... I feel so lonely
Back on topic.

Parkour.
It's more or less a way very efficient way to get to point A to point B.
If you want to do parkour just to show off, then freerunning is for you.
You'll also need to train your upper body, it looks funny when skinny as shit people tries to do parkour but they can't lift themselves up for shit.
be ready for a lot of pulled/hurting muscles
How many chinups can you do?
