I ordered this gun from Redwolf Airsoft one and a half week ago. Here is my review of the VFC MK17.
First off, the gun is solid. Really solid. And the externals are nice. I've read that the gun uses self shimming gears,
which would explain that the gun sounds a little more high pitched than my Jing Gong and Cyma.
The gun is very accurate, and has a 6.04mm barrel stock. The rate of fire is quite high with a 9.6v NiMh battery.
I will now go over the gun with pictures, because who doesn't love pictures?

The gun as a whole.

The bolt catch is fully functioning and the bolt makes a neat sound when it's released.

The front sight folds and in the gas block there is hidden a hop up adjustment tool and a torx screwdriver to fit all the screws on the gun.

The adjustment tool and screwdriver.

The gun has a FN style flashhider with threads for QD silencers.

The upper receiver is aluminium, the lower receiver is polymer. It features an ambidextrous magazine release and fire selector.

The stock has 6 positions like an AR stock, and has the battery housing in it. You can also adjust the cheek rest.

Even though the battery is in the stock, there are no visible wires.

You can easily install a lot of accesories.
I will now list the pros and cons of this gun.
PROS:
Solid feel
Accurate
High RoF
Big battery department
Steel/Polymer/Aluminium where they should be
Ambidextrous
Lots of rails without looking overly tactical
7.62x51mm is cool
NEUTRAL:
The sights fold really easily
CONS:
The fire selector on the right side gets left behind when you flip the other one
The 7.62x51mm mags are expensive
CONCLUSION
This gun is one of the most realistic AEG's that I have ever seen, and feels and preforms amazing.
I highly recommend this gun if you have the money.
Feel free to ask questions!
Hnng, I want to play with that full travel bolt.

315FPS according to RWA
So the wiring is done through the hinge? I'd be weary of that stretching out over time unless they did something to prevent that from happening.
the metal plates on the hinge are the contacts
no wires here

The hinges are contacts for a part, so there are no wires in the hinge part
ninja
better than the G&G wiring, that's for sure
the G&G one has exposed wiring when the stock is folded, ughhg
besides that though, the G&G SCAR is really op, i want to see it compared to this one
