Okay, first things first. This is not a big "Religious Revelation" thread. I am not a devout follower of Christianity but I just have to show you guys this video. Before you start to drop to your knees and praise God's ultimate divine power, think of this. The success of this piece is the belief that these two things are somehow connected: 1. The fact that this molecule , Laminin , "binds us together" and "makes us strong" 2. The fact that it's kind of reminds you of a cross. And apparently some God put that in there so the molecular biologists of the world can put they're faith in God. Makes perfect sense to me. This molecule "Laminin", is actually found in [b] every single living thing on the planet [/b]. (Thanks, wikipedia). Wow. I now don't have to worry about the moral integrity of my pigs. Jesus is with them. Ditto for my bacteria farm, I'd hate to see them go to Prokaryote Purgatory. Because it looks like a cross? It also looks like an upside down cross if you turn it the other way around therefore Satan is the one true god. It also looks a bit like an arrow if you turn it another way, therefore direction is the fundamental of all things. Awful argument.

Another example of religious people picking and choosing which bits of science they want to listen to. Will believe in laminin proteins but not the ability for DNA to mutate and evolve over generations.

If Jesus had been electrocuted and that molecule looked like an extremely detailed electric chair then I'd give it a second thought.

Not this laminin bullshit. My friend tried to use it as proof that god was real when I told him I was atheist. Its depressing how the molecule looks nothing like it because that was a goddamn model. But hey, when your view on the world and afterlife are struggled we will go with anything to desperately disprove anything.

Watched the video (happy OP?), have a headache from the guy yelling the whole time. These people will always find something like this to make into a HUGE discovery towards god's existence. Sure its "scientific", but not proof of anything.

The human body hasn't changed that much on the last 2011 years.This means that we had lamanin in our body before Christ died. Which means that, if this is proof, God knew about Christ's death before it happened. Which was created by humans. Which have free will. How can we have free will if everything can be anticipated?

Wow, this only favors Christians and now all the preachers are going to say that Christianity is the one true religion or some bullshit, because someone saw a cross in a molecule.

But the image of the religious symbol of the cross was created by man. The fact that something predating it looks like a cross means nothing. They're just desperate for something they can label scientific proof.
