First Tablet, First Sketch, What think? - General

So I got myself a graphics tablet today, I've wanted one for ages but after playing with a friends one I decided I must have one, so I bought a Wacom Bamboo on the way home, and decided to test it out by doing a rough sketch for a friend, what think? Yeah, it does suck cocane off balls through a tube. It has been repeated over and over in this forum, Learn to draw using pen and paper before splashing the cash on a tablet.

if you want to use the tablet for interacting with your computer it's coool but if you think it turns you into a magicool artist, then you're a clot, to say the least.

SSAAMM, learn to draw first and don't shit up your oportunity to be part of this sub-forum. You have to understand that many people here are fantastic at art and drawing and you should really take thier advice.

for drawing throw that thing away, start following some tutorials, draw from life and have nothing to do with that at all untill you're atleast somewhat competent with traditional. You just don't know how to draw yet. You have to learn how to draw before you can draw anything decent. That applies to all art forms, not just if you're trying to draw realistically. Go learn, then do it again.
