Notch's new game, 0x10.cc is now Released! - General

So far it looks like minecraft in space with guns. Nothing i'd pay for.

Honestly the idea he has sounds a lot like Infinity The Quest For Earth (Which i had insanely high hopes for and was one of my most anticipated games ever) but with minecraft graphics. I don't think he's going to pull it off even close to the degree that the small infinity team had their game to before it was abandoned Scratch that, apparently it wasn't abandoned and they came back to it. Fucking awesome

I think he meant F2P where they have tons of pay-to-win microtransactions in the games and are basically unplayable unless you end up paying anyways. But there are tons of games that aren't like that and i don't think he sees the point

None of my friends will play this way. I think he is just making up excuses to try to get more money out of this.

I'm starting to think that low resoloution textures and low poly counts aren't part of his "visual style" at all. If I didn't know any better (which I don't) I would say that modern graphics go beyond Mojang's budget and/or skill level.

Notch's idea is ridiculous. He plans to simulate up to 3 of those 100 kHz-CPUs per user on a server, that means each server can only simulate a handful of clients.

So, the people saying "f2p isn't a scam" are correct. Also, how the fuck does that even work? Isn't Notch the one to decide whether or not his game can result in being a scam or not?
