As long as they don't copy WoW's system like most MMOs it could be pretty good.
If they do it, it'd be the first MMO I would consider putting time into.
All this is gonna depend on whether The Old Republic is successful or not.
As long as they don't copy WoW's system like most MMOs it could be pretty good.
WoW did some things right, it'd be retarded to avoid all the innovations they managed. Personally, I'd like to see a Mass Effect MMO, plain and simple. Take the standard MMO features, throw in a few balance options, take ME3's combat system and meld them (carefully) together. It'd be perfect.
All this is gonna depend on whether The Old Republic is successful or not.
If BioWare consider's making a Mass Effect MMO due to popular demands, they're gonna have to gather feedback from The Old Republic userbase.
All the different species, large ammount of lore, different classes. Seems like it could work, but it could also end up being crap and I don't ever want to see Mass Effect ruined.
So it's an article speculating about Casey Hudson speculating about an MMO? Genius

Far too many MMOs try to copy WoW and they all end up failing because they're trying to beat a giant by copying it. They should learn lessons fromn WoW but they should also learn lessons from the WoW clones who have all failed too. They need to set themselves apart and not just become another "me too" game where you'd be better off not trying at all.

Most of them of fans are buying SWTOR just on the name brand like Call of Duty players.
I would cum everywhere

Just play at your own pace, space combat, player houses and towns on different planets, multiple classes with an allotted skill point pool, vehicles, and probably Battlegrounds based on species conflicts like Geth/Quarian, or Batarian/Everyone, and whatnot. No actual Reapers, though - just Reaper tech left over and fucking up everything. I personally think that'd be amazing, and I'd certainly play it.

I don't like mass effect.
Man, a Mass Effect MMO game :allears:
Just as I was watching both Shepards get raped by that sex killer.
i dont think i would even bother...

i'm thinking a combination of an fps & eve online. that would be fucking kickass
Im ok whit this.
Only if they had decided to make a ME MMO instead of Star Wars. Then again they knew Star Wars would do well before they knew Mass Effect would. (they started working on TOR before ME1 came out I believe)
I'd kill for a mass effect mmo shooter.

I agree its a natural evolution of the series really i mean i sat and thought for the first time the other day........what if mass effect added coop or multiplayer? then i realised.......oh god i see an mmo coming.
The Citadel could be the main hub, each Species/class could Start at their own place, but after the beginning quests you could get to the citadel
All I want is co-op in the main game. Playing Garrus and running around hitting varren sounds fun to me.
I can be Krogan?
As long as they don't copy WoW's system like most MMOs it could be pretty good.
Which they would. Making mmo innovations is probably the most risky genre to do it in. While the yield would be much higher if they succeeded, I really don't see BioWare as a cutting edge company in terms of their engineering that would take such a risk. They seem more like a resource oriented company that puts a lot of depth and content in the game but the engine itself is nothing special (though a AAA engine). Now don't get me wrong, MMO's are all about content and not so much about gameplay ingenuity or complex simulated environments these days. One day it will change but BioWare doesn't seem like the ones to do it. If they did make an MMO, which I'm sure they could, it'd be a WoW-derived game like all the rest. Hell, maybe they'd throw in some EVE elements though it wouldn't help it in my eyes. Though seeing multiplayer in this series might bring me back to it (I bailed half-way through ME2), MMO is not the kind I would be hoping for.
Lvl 60 Female Krogan Mercenary
I don't see the problem with mas effects gameplay as is for an MMO, when you're in the citadel it would walk like you normally do in it, with that centered Camera view. When you're doing missions/raids/pvp/etc It would be what the camera is normally like during Combat. Is that that bad?
