I just started listening to this guy a couple weeks ago. Absolutely fantastic music. I highly recommend downloading/buying XO and his self-titled album. "Between the Bars" is probably one of my favorite songs of all time. Here are two unbelievable acoustic performances. Both probably surpass their also-unbelievable studio counterparts. I personally wouldn't know, I've never seen the film. I've only really heard Between the Bars, which is great. Keep meaning to listen to more of his stuff, he had an interesting voice
X/O is my favourite album.
Interestingly enough, he killed himself by stabbing himself in the heart. Needle in the the hay if probably my favorite song by him.
That's like saying Courtney killed Cobain
I agree, although he was clean of any illegal drugs upon autopsy. Whatever that's worth.. http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2004/mar/19/popandrock.elliottsmith Kind of an interesting article
http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2004/mar/19/popandrock.elliottsmith
That was a very informative article, thanks Loompa!

Ah, yes. Independence Day is one of my favorites from XO. Then again, that whole album is incredibly solid as a whole. Tons of great songs there.
