Not megaman really.
looks cool as hell, but, just because it's 3D doesnt make it not megaman, OP, there were sidescrolling 3D megaman x games. IMO the gameplay looks a lot like megaman
jumping looks responsive as fuck
Looks nice and the gameplay seems fun, I hope people don't put such high expectations this game and let the developers do their work.
for place holder assets it looked p.good

Well, actually it is, since it's the spiritual successor to Megaman, from the people who made Megaman.

It was a joke.
This reminds me of the opening gameplay to Mega Man X7. And that game was baaaaad.
High hopes for this one, though.
seems nice.

time to hold the auto jumper down, bitches
hope this is on Humble Bundle
Also, fucked how capcom killed megaman for no reason, even if I never did play any of the games
I kinda liked the 2D concept art, especially this one

The (dynamic??) lighting looks really gorgeous in that picture. Kinda gives me a skull-girls vibe for some reason. :v
By having the entire game in 3D it feels like it's lost it's charm. :(
Looks great but I wish it was less gritty. Also what ^ says.

There are a lot of theories, but it seems to me that they wanted to do it for a while. Inafune was probably pushing internally against execs and shareholders (who thought the series wasn't worth keeping due to unsatisfactory sales of more recent titles) for the several projects they had going, and when he left the projects all lost the one person with power behind them.
The fact that he went on to do this just goes to show that Inafune really did still want to keep Mega Man alive. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned this into a franchise (if it succeeds here). It's the ultimate "fuck you" to Capcom, showing them that people still want Mega Man and that they were letting fans down by killing the series.

seeing that capcom made this it's pretty damn clear they wanted to tell "Inafune" to fuck off
but now he quite literally "Stuck it back to the man".
even with those bad sales its obvious why mega man should have stayed.

I thought Inafune had a hand in Bad Box Art Mega Man.

I want someone to do this with Darkstalkers.
But at least Capcom said their expectations were too high for Resurrection.
Despite it being the #7 most downloaded game on PSN for a month or two.

Yup, I just looked it up and Inafune himself suggested it.
He didn't mean to get people angry, but it was coming off the heels of the MML3 incident.
In universe the character isn't the Mega Man from the original games, just someone who wears BBMM's outfit and has the name.
I like it, it's updated to suit our generation and it still seems to hold right on to the key controls the original Mega Man games had. I know the final result will be great regardless of the direction they take.
I don't know about you all but I still think those colors be jazzy. The main issue is that they keep those particle effects toned down and don't turn everything into a clusterfuck.
If they can do that, I'm sure it'll be doublefine.
Why is it that Unreal engine games always have sterile gray rooms? :v:
Once they've got the gameplay honed down and refined (it already seems like the base Megaman feel's there, though, but these ARE people that have made MM games for many years), I think they're gonna need to focus on making the Unreal Engine 3 not so obvious on the art design. It's easy to make UE3 games look alike, but then you get games like Guilty Gear Xrd that look nothing like UE3, and emulates a 2D style with 3D models due to some careful animations and cel-shading on the dev's part.

Engines lighting style, it's possible to go against it but it requires more effort. For a placeholder WIP its fine to just use defaults. I suspect the lighting will change.
I love how his arms go up the same way, he looks and feels just like megaman.
Only a week in development and it looks great.

Anti Chamber and border lands are great examples of using UE well.

Can anyone name a good side-scroller in which jumping wasn't a required mechanic?

I was really hoping it was going to be like that. I fucking love what ever that style is where people use drawings for sprites. Skullgirls is one of the best looking game I've ever seen and the new Shantae looks kick ass.

They could do it. Take a look at Guilty Gear Xrd in UE3.
