Apparently 60,000+ dislikes on the original video didn't hit home hard enough.
Pete Hines is a fucking moron, not sure why anyone is surprised he would defend this to the death.
"The difference between mods and paid mods is that paid mods is compatible with DLCs, tested by QA, and doesn't turn off achievements."
Really, Pete
Well, he isn't lying.
Like nothing about that sentence is false :v:
Though isn't there a mod to re-enable achivements?

Nor did the rapid increase of negative reviews on Fallout 4's steam page.
Bethesda getting money from content that they haven't even made? It's genius when you think about it.
Valve's been doing it for years with the TF2 Workshop.
Wow I didn't know Bethesda was this high off of their own fumes. Like there are so many things wrong with the Creation Club. It doesn't help mod makers nor the community at all. Only Bethesda.
Valve's been doing it for years with the TF2 Workshop.
Yeah, and their other games too. Warframe also has tennogen, that lets users make skins to sell as well.

It's funny because there is a mod that just re enables achievements

"tested by QA"
i somehow highly doubt they have a QA team

I wouldn't be surprised if it was one guy.

how the fuck do you test reskins anyway
"yep this new texture loaded in, it just works"
They don't even QA their own fucking games so why this.
how the fuck do you test reskins anyway

Well the pipboy skins are applied via the armour workbench, so they need to make sure the localization works, and the skin actually applies.
It's weird cause I went through the whole game with cheats and I still got achievements.
We're talking about mods not console commands.
Pete Hines is one of the most foul people to ever work in the video game industry. He actively bullies people who complain that Fallout 3/4's plot sucks on Twitter and whenever people call him out he acts like a manchild.
Also the classic "lol it's a just a stupid game who cares." Quality PR. How does he still have a job?
Sounds like the Creation Club is simply there to prey on the supremely ignorant. Don't see why anyone would use it over free, better made mods.
there's literally fucking horse armor
are you kidding me how dense can you be?

PC Gamer should get a cut of the money for the idea.
Valve's been doing it for years with the TF2 Workshop.
And CSGO and Dota 2. Just like with crates, other developers see Valve's success and want to have some of that too.
In CSGO, Dota 2 and TF2 the creators at least get 50% of the money I think. And it's cosmetics at most times and not mods.
It's not paid mods, it's microtransactions.

Pete Hines always goes tooth and nail in defending Bethesda's practices/games, no matter how pathetic his arguments are.

The original tweeter was wrong though, the Stealth Armour and Hellfire are not the existing mods put into the CC, they're new content made by Beth.
Pete Hines is still a dick though.
Did no one confront him about their questionable attempts to bypass Sony and Microsoft mod restrictions by shoving the CC files in as updates under their noses, and thus forcing massive downloads for all owners of the game that will keep on coming?
It's not paid mods, it's microtransactions.
Microtransactions that already exist in a platform they support called "mods"
This like if Garry went to the workshop and picked 5 of the best mods and put them into the game with a paygate, going so far as to invent a microcurrency for it which is anti-consumer in itself.
What is the point of a customer buying any of these when some of the free mods that exist are better? I'll emphasize, the mods were better before the microtransactions came out.
Pete Hines is a fucking moron, not sure why anyone is surprised he would defend this to the death.
If you made six figures a year calling people stupid for having opinions, you'd probably be doing it too.

None of the content in the CC are existing mods.
If Bethesda lifted the mods from Nexus or whatever and put them in, your anology would work.
But all the content on the CC is new assets.

Dude that is literally semantics
Having an official mod with the "Spazz-11 pump action shoot barrel" instead of

is at the very least eyebrow raising.

Technically, yeah. But the vast majority of the mods are cheap props or new equipment that is otherwise not any different compared to the shit you could download from Fallout Nexus (without paying a dime, of course).
P.S. An anthology is a collection of written works, typically poems :v:
Only things I can think of is the Hellfire and Chinese Stealth Suit.
If there were not any equivalent mods you'd be complaining that Bethesda is selling content they made themselves.
I'm not defending Creation Club, it is horrible.
But Beth's Hellfire and Stealth suit are not bad, their Hellfire looks closer to the original version then the modded one does.

I hope so, because that's not how you make money. That's how you actively kill your player base.
