So I'm sure we all know what comic books are. I've recently decided to start getting into comic books, and I'm loving it. I'm not a fan of the typical super hero comics such as Spider Man, Super Man, or Iron Man. This thread isn't just a post your comic book collection thread, but a place to discuss comics, upcoming comics, television & film adaptations, etc.
I picked up two different series recently.
Hawkeye

Despite my disinterest in super heroes, I really enjoyed this issue. All I can say without ruining anything is that this series has Hawkeye out of costume and away from the rest of the Avengers. In the opening frames he even expresses some frustration with himself for not possessing any real super powers like the rest of the Avengers. I tend to like the less 'super' super heroes.
Thief of Thieves

I've read issues 1 - 4, and I have to say I really enjoy it and plan on picking up the other issues. It is has a pretty awesome story all based around a professional thief who wants to get out of his life of crime, but finds great difficulty in escaping the life. It quickly develops a large cast of supporting roles, which is a plus and negative, as it is hard for the writers to personalize some of the characters since there are quite a few. When I picked this up, I had no clue that one of the guys behind this was also behind Walking Dead.
As far as other comics go, has anyone here read the new Gambit comic? I heard it was also really good, so I am considering picking it up; I'm just hesitant because as I said, I don't tend to like super hero stuff. I also want to get into the Walking Dead, but I don't want to seem like a tool, and I honestly don't want to have to catch up 100 issues. :v:
I like reading the new Ultimate Spider-Man comics. I haven't been reading comics that much over the years, so the transition from Peter to Miles isn't as big of a deal as it would be for a regular reader.
I also like reading Scarlet Spider. Kaine seems like an okay character to me.
