I saw this the day it came out, then again a couple of days ago with my boyfriend after having him watch the first two Mad Max movies. I could watch it many more times and not get tired of it.
The only qualm I have with this movie is that the female lead [sp]says "remember me?" instead of 'witness me' right before she rips the guy's face off[/sp]
This guy reminds me of the Helghast every single time.

Because you only say "witness me" when you die, like "Witness me going to Valhalla". If someone else dies you say, "remember me" cause you're going, "Remember me when you go to Valhalla."

The first canyon scene up to and including the swamp was definitely the best part of the film, that music
I wondered throughout the movie what that spraycan stuff was. Is it like a drug that makes them go adrenaline-crazy, or is it just a tradition thing? Cause they'd always do that shit right before offing themselves.

The whole spray paint thing just reminded me of Charlie Day in It's Always Sunny, every time.

IIRC it was mentioned in an interview that they think it's just paint, but Immortan Joe laces it with some pretty powerful drugs

I thought the color of the paint was because of their religion, and they sprayed it on their face to get high off the fumes before they did something batshit-crazy to get into valhalla.

I know its not a popular opinion, but this movie was just mediocre. The effects were nice but the story was dumb as shit. lets go to my home land, oh its destroyed, lets go back.

That's the point. All it was ever meant to be is a visual action flick, it doesn't try to be anything more. Like Dredd, it has just enough story to keep the action going. Anything more than that would have been unnecessary and probably would have ruined it.
Also I think you're confusing story with plot. Sure the plot is 'run away from the bad guys, now go back', but there is a shitload of story about not just the characters but the whole world they live in which is told through the visuals. Not everything needs to be told through dialogue.

Pretty sure its just spraypaint. Everything in their world is dirty and rusty, and them being "shiny and chrome" right before they go to Valhalla has some sort of religious meaning too it.
