By Eric Randall | The Atlantic Wire – Mon, Jan 2, 2012 Pepsi Co., facing a lawsuit from a man who claims to have found a mouse in his Mountain Dew can, has an especially creative, if disgusting, defense: their soda would have dissolved a dead mousebefore the man could have found it. An Illinois man sued Pepsi in 2009 after he claims he "spat out the soda to reveal a dead mouse," the Madison County Record reports. He claims he sent the mouse to Pepsi, which then "destroyed" the remains after he allowed them to test it, according to his complaint. Most shudder-worthy, however, is that Pepsi's lawyers also found experts to testify, based on the state of the remains sent to them that, "the mouse would have dissolved in the soda had it been in the can from the time of its bottling until the day the plaintiff drank it," according to the Record. (It would have become a "jelly-like substance," according to Pepsi, adds LegalNewsline.) This seems like a winning-the-battle-while-surrendering-the-war kind of strategy that hinges on winning the argument that "our product is essentially a can of battery acid." The lawyers still appear to be lawyering behind the scenes but we cannot wait for this to come to trial (though we think a trial is about as likely as the chances of us "Doing the Dew" again).
Source Delicious!
Mountain Dew Code Red - Now with Protein!
But its true, most soda is like drinking battery acid. I don't understand why anyone drinks that crap anyways. People Keep quoting me saying that it tastes "good". I enjoyed drinking it 2 years ago before I stopped, then I looked at the sugar contents of most carbonated drinks and also what it does to your body. Stopping is very good for your health, you should look into it.
Yum, I live in Illinois and really enjoy Mountain Dew.
Is it really any surprise that these drinks are acidic? We've known this for a long time now. Hell, my third grade teacher showed us how dropping rusted/dirty coins into a glass of coca-cola would dissolve all the grime and leave the coin good as new.
oh god
But its true, most soda is like drinking battery acid. I don't understand why anyone drinks that crap anyways.
Tastes fuckin' delicious, that's why.
But its true, most soda is like drinking battery acid. I don't understand why anyone drinks that crap anyways.
oh come on, you know the reason why
Tastes like acid too imo.
But its true, most soda is like drinking battery acid. I don't understand why anyone drinks that crap anyways.
1. Tastes good 2. Doesn't kill me too quick It fills in the two rules for anything I shovel into my mouth so yea
Tastes like acid too imo.
It's an acquired taste.
lol the funny thing is, you could achieve a similar effect with lemonade it's the citric acid, that's all - the stuff that gives the citrus flavour. you can find that in oranges, lemons, limes and pretty much any other fruit like that
And the sulphuric acid they use in sodas are probably a factor, as well. No bullshit, check the ingredients tab on your soda.
And the sulphuric acid they use in sodas are probably a factor, as well. No bullshit, check the ingredients tab on your soda.
mountain dew doesn't have sulphuric acid in it
And the sulphuric acid they use in sodas are probably a factor, as well. No bullshit, check the ingredients tab on your soda.
Sulfuric acid would cause chemical burns the second it touched your lips. The primary acid I see in soda is citric acid.
And the sulphuric acid they use in sodas are probably a factor, as well. No bullshit, check the ingredients tab on your soda.
You're retarded. Sulfuric acid reacts with water and reacts with sugar, is highly acidic, and corrodes metal. Soda only has citric acid (the same shit that is in citrus), phosphoric acid, and small amounts of carbonic acid due to reactions from the carbon dioxide and the water.
And the sulphuric acid they use in sodas are probably a factor, as well. No bullshit, check the ingredients tab on your soda.
Did you pass 10th grade science?
And the sulphuric acid they use in sodas
sulfuric acid: yeah probably not
Articles like these make me want to only drink from clear containers.
Mountain Dew is waaay too sweet.
And the sulphuric acid they use in sodas are probably a factor, as well. No bullshit, check the ingredients tab on your soda.
Phosphoric Acid, actually. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phosphoric_acid#Processed_food_use I don't blame you for getting it wrong. Science is hard. Especially when it involves big fancy words like "Sulfuric", "Phosphoric", and "Acid".
sulfuric acid: yeah probably not
that's concentrated sulphuric acid though big difference, even if he is being silly
But its true, most soda is like drinking battery acid. I don't understand why anyone drinks that crap anyways.
Because it's REALLY FUCKING DELICIOUS! :gonk:
And the sulphuric acid they use in sodas are probably a factor, as well. No bullshit, check the ingredients tab on your soda.

Carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, sugar, phosphoric acid, caffeine, citric acid, natural flavor.
Taken straight from my Pepsi can.
And the sulphuric acid they use in sodas are probably a factor, as well. No bullshit, check the ingredients tab on your soda.
I can regularly go through an entire 24-pack of Coca-Cola by myself in about a day if I really wanted to. If they really used sulphuric acid, then that would make me one mean, lean, diabetic machine.
you're concentrated sulfuric acid
Articles like these make me want to only drink from clear containers.
You know, clear soda cans actually sound like a real fucking cool idea, slapping the logo and a bit more of the fancy classic soda can shit onto a crystal clear can.
And the sulphuric acid they use in sodas are probably a factor, as well. No bullshit, check the ingredients tab on your soda.
I have a can of Dew right here. Let me list the ingredients for you. "Carbonated Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Concentrated Orange Juice, Citric Acid, Natural Flavor, Sodium Benzoate (preserves freshness), Caffeine, Sodium Citrate, Erythorbic Acid (preserves freshness), Gum Arabic, Calcium Disodium EDTA (to protect flavor), Brominated Vegetable Oil, Yellow 5." Oh hey look at that. No "sulphuric acid" anywhere. Who would've thought...
And that's why I only drink flat cream soda and antifreeze these days. Practically gave me chemical burns when I'd drink too much Coke.
And that's why I only drink flat cream soda and antifreeze these days. Practically gave me chemical burns when I'd drink too much Coke.
Wait...what? I don't think you're supposed to drink antifreeze. In fact I don't think you are able to drink antifreeze. Not without dying of course.
My stomach acid can also dissolve a mouse, now what?
