Hosts Canada suffered a shock 5-3 loss to the United States in the ice hockey showdown at the Winter Olympics.
The US went ahead after just 41 seconds through Brian Rafalski in the Group A qualifier at Canada Hockey Place.
Eric Staal levelled before Rafalski scored again in the first period to stun most of the 18,000 crowd.
Dany Heatley equalised but Chris Drury and Jamie Langenbrunner put the US two clear and Ryan Kesler sealed victory after a Sidney Crosby consolation.
I know this is late, but fuck it, this is kind of funny
how do you feel canadians?
this could've been you

but alas, its not.
you guys played good though.
It's not the first time the US has beaten Canada at hockey. Russia, the United States, and Canada are the "big three" of hockey and whenever they play each other it's a great game.
Not as Ironic as a Jamaican bob sled team.
Who cares? It's just a game.
Not to be hard on the Canadians but they have so few strong points and this is one of them. Next week we'll be hearing about how the best maple syrup comes from New Jersey or something...
And now the Americans who were injured in the game go home and pay for their medical bills.
The announcer said it was the first time we beat the Canadian Olympic team since the 60s. Is that true?

Oh no, not this again.

Yep. Good game, America.
Yep. Good game, America.
yes Amercia shake my hand (read my last post)
I always thought Hockey was for rednecks. I was wrong. NASCAR is for rednecks. Hockey is for Canadians and whitenecks.
America seems so happy that they beat Team Canada, but they won't even pay attention to their home team in the NHL, where the real hockey is. It's pretty sad when an American team wins and the city doesn't have any small parade or anything for winning Stanley. :(
Needless to say, USA is best country.

Well like they say, Canada is better known for their entertainment, For example:

Now that is ironic.
:canada:
good thing I was faping during the game

Canada has plenty of strong points, we just don't get in everyone's faces and raise our voices to tell you about it in an arrogant and obnoxious way while firing a handgun into the air.

Hurr
America's population is around ten times larger than that of Canada's, and thus the American pool of professional athletes is also substantially larger.
So now you gonna list em eh?
Its Olympic hockey which really doesn't show anything.
I find it amusing that whenever the US wins something there's usually a thread about it, any other country and no one cares.

Case in point.
I bet the relationship between Canada and the USA is on ice.

Actually it's called Big Seven, which includes Finland, Sweden, Canada, USA, Slovakia and Czech Republic.
