Chinese hackers breached the designs of two dozen major weapons systems.
Designs for many of the nation’s most sensitive advanced weapons systems have been compromised by Chinese hackers, according to a report prepared for the Pentagon and to officials from government and the defense industry.
Among more than two dozen major weapons systems whose designs were breached were programs critical to U.S. missile defenses and combat aircraft and ships, according to a previously undisclosed section of a confidential report prepared by the Defense Science Board for Pentagon leaders.
The schematics for PAC-3, THAAD, F-35, V-22, Aegis missile system, F/A-18, Littoral Combat Ship, and UH-60 all have been breached, although it is unknown to what extent.

I wonder if they'll try to start building their own versions of them, hell they'd probably be able to do it at a tiny fraction of the cost we pay our contractors.
That is if they're connected to the chinese government that is, nothing to really confirm that it was though.
Guess we'll see what happens, probably not a lot. Maybe they'll release information about design flaws or something.
How fucking retarded can someone be to connect sensitive stuff like that to the internet?

The hackers are students from Wuhan and Jiaotong University in Shanghai, and work for the PLA at the cyberwarfare center in Shanghai.
CNN got in trouble for photographing the cyber-warfare center.

Everytime I hear of Chinese Student hackers being enlisted by the Chinese govt. I'm reminded of the Closed Shell Child hackers from Ghost in the Shell.
You'd think the military would store sensitive weapon designs on a closed network
If this is true, I really hope the US actually acts and tries to pull some trade from China. There needs to be fucking consequences for this kind of espionage.

So brutalist. So scary.
Why is this type of information even being stored in a place where hackers could get to it?
Even if it isn't the Chinese government, you can bet that this information is going to end up in some governments hands. And of course none of us will ever know what's being done about it, so it's just another news story to be frustrated about.
Hey you fuckin dummies. Listen here. Okay? You listening. Ok good, fucking dummies... Listen, Alright? Listen. You really think America would just let them hack this shit, huh? Do you dummies? That's what I thought. We've done this multiple times. Given other countries false information to trick them. We've done it during cold war, done it in WW2 with false information. C'mon you fuckin dummies. Jesus christ... AMERICA IS NOT DUMB AMERICA IS #1 FOR A REASON!! We would do this on LAN network to share this information if anything. America does not hire dummies if anything America hires the Asians like these hackers to work for them even though their skill is minuscule compared to a proud America. OORAH!
Nice.

Its rather a 'who cares' moment for most of these designs, these designs have been around for a few decades. Save for this one that actually has advanced stealth tech on it (Its been proposed to be the testbed for Railguns, Optical Stealth Tech, etc)

F-35 is a few years old.
It's not a surprise. If they weren't paying people to find shit like this from home, they'd just be bribing their way to information regardless. Espionage is serious shit.
F-35 is a few years old.
That too.
F-35? I would never have guessed

Here's the difference though. They can copy all they want, but in the end their jet is lined with the tears of abused workers, children, blood, sweat, and not the good kind, buster.
Ours, oh ho ho...our jet. Now that is an American jet. Grunting, laughter, blood of hard work and training and freedom not slavery, true strength, mined by hand, mined by Americans in American mines.
They would never win in a dogfight against a veteran Airman, mark my words, Jimbo.
OORAH. CAN I GET AN OORAH? OORAH. OORAH. OORAH!!

Because money
Why hasn't war been declared yet?
Because a war would ruin both countries? What are you? Seven?
The schematics for ... F-35 ...
Haha! Now they're going to be forced spending billions and billions of dollars trying to finish the F-35 concept that they stole, bankrupting them and forcing them into submission. All according to plan! America wins!
