'Robin Hood' banker helped poor A German bank employee who secretly transferred money from rich to poor clients has been given a 22-month suspended prison term. The 62-year-old woman, dubbed the 'Robin Hood Banker', moved more than $11m (£7m) in 117 transfers. The court in Bonn was told that the employee, who has not been named, took no money for herself. The bank made a loss of more than $1.5m (£1m) when poor customers were unable to pay back unauthorised overdrafts. The employee was accused of allowing overdrafts for customers who would not normally qualify for them. Small pension She then used the money from richer customers to temporarily disguise the loans during the bank's monthly audit of overdrafts. The woman has begun reimbursing the bank for the losses, reportedly from a small retirement pension. She could have faced a four-year prison sentence, but the court decided on leniency as she had confessed immediately and did not profit personally. The woman was also considered to have suffered enough, through the loss of her job and the requirement that she pay back the lost funds. She has to pay it all back? She's going to be in debt for a while.
I would be so pissed if it was my money that was transferred.
I'm telling you, old ladies are always the nicest. Why would they even put her in jail....
I would be so pissed if it was my money that was transferred.
how would you buy your fifth or sixth fleet of black cadillacs
I'm telling you, old ladies are always the nicest. Why would they even put her in jail....
She'll probably end up in a minimum security prison. It's not like she'll be tossed into solitary confinement.
how would you buy your fifth or sixth fleet of black cadillacs
Charity shouldn't be forced.
Small pension
oh shit i thought that said penis...
The woman was also considered to have suffered enough, through the loss of her job and the requirement that she pay back the lost funds.
What? Don't get me wrong, it was 'nice' what she did. But how the fuck did she SUFFER? As nice a thing as it may have been, it WAS illegal give her job and she knew this would not end well, likely with her losing her job and facing jail time, so how the hell has she suffered? :smug: No wait...
This woman is nothing but a small minded thief, I hope noone feels sorry for her, she's taken someones hard earnt money and given it to the kind of people who piss their life (and money) down the drain. people who never worked hard enough to achieve anything in life. She deserved a longer sentence also in the kind of stories i've heard about robin hood he stole money from people like the king and the church who only got their money from overtaxing the poor, and so in a way he was never really stealing.

She robbed the bank for over a million bucks... Yea she gave the money away but she did rob the bank.
This also doesn't really count as Robin Hood because the money never belonged to poor people in the first place.
inb4 Libertarian rage.

You are aware that charities don't put 100% of your money into the cause, aren't you? In some cases it's more like 25%.

You might want to do the math on that one again. At 100 grand a year, a very good living, It would take 40-50 years to make that kind of dough. Oh, and 40 years ago it was a good year to make 4000.
Robin Hood much? :haw:
Robin Hood stole from assholes who extorted higher taxes out of people, this woman stole from random people she'd never met and then committed fraud to make it appear they overdrew their accounts.

You're aiming your hatred in the wrong direction, the article said she was covering up people's overdrafts, meaning that they tried to spend more than they had. Meaning they likely took everything they had for granted and blew it on meaningless shit. And it's not like they wouldn't know about the overdraft fees, unless they never read the bank paperwork they filled out to setup an account.

You can start talking about working hard for a living when your mommy and daddy stop covering your food and clothes and rent for you.
dot
Consider their $400,000 wage is much more than the miner's $20,000 , I estimate they work about 20 times as hard.
