I finally finished Witcher 2 the other day. No other piece of media-book, game, movie have ever captured politics and fantasy elements like magic and dragons so well and impressed me as well as the Witcher game series, the only other being A Song of Ice and Fire. Anyone know if the books are sold in english?
Damn I want this game, but my computer could barely run The Witcher 2 and there's no way I'm getting it on consoles. Guess I'll have to upgrade soon.
This game looks so amazing and huge I have worries what it will require.
I can't wait for this. Geralt has this old epic man about him now with that beard
I am hyped as fuck for this game. There is going to be so much shit going on in the story too what with Nilfgaard conquering the kingdoms, the wild hunt appearing, and most likely the intrigue and conspiracies that made the first 2 so great [editline]7th December 2013[/editline]
I finally finished Witcher 2 the other day. I was hyped before, but now I am hyped.
Man, I've gotta finish Witcher 2. I can't understand why I haven't finished it yet, it's amazing.
I hope the sword combat is a lot better than in Witcher 2, I thought it was pretty shallow. If you were either timing attacks carefully or button mashing didn't seem to make much of a difference, unlike the first game. Regardless, really looking forward to this game.

Looks beautiful
They really need to make the combat better. It's the only reason I never want to continue these games, the combat is clunky as shit, I can't stand it.
The graphics confuse me. At one glance, it looks worse than Witcher 2. But in others, it looks superb. Maybe just the different art style.
Background music is cool as fuck.

I agree that the witcher 2 was hard as fuck. [sp]especially when you help that elf bitch who turns out to be scoiatel or some shit, then about 12 of her mates pile ontop of you like there is no tomorrow.[/sp]
I thought the combat in The Witcher 2 was somewhat dull until I was halfway through Act 2. By that point I had most of the skills in the swordsman tree and it started feeling better. Still definitely room for improvement though.
not to mention that it was a huge roll simulator
I played through the first bit of the game without really rolling. When a friend brought up how useful it was (especially after picking up that one talent early in the sword tree that increases your roll distance) it made encounters much easier. I validated it in my head as just the increased reflexes and agility of a Witcher at work but it still looked strange watching my heroic/antiheroic warrior at the peak of superhuman condition rolling around all of the place :v:
TW2 was hard as fuck on dark difficulty but I managed to do it. The fight with the giant draug was a huge pain in the ass because every time you die, you have to redo the fight before and the cutscene is unskippable

This is easily gonna be contender for game of the year next year.
I agree that the witcher 2 was hard as fuck.
I played it on the hardest difficulty, and I think the experience is much better that way - it really forces you to make potions and plan ahead. I was mostly full sword tree too
Snip wrong thread
I still amazes me that a company has decided to declare that "this is the last game of the series". Thats respectable. It's going to be awesome. The White Flame vs. the White Wolf. [sp]It's like poetry, they rhyme.[/sp]
My pants are wet
not to mention that it was a huge roll simulator
oh god that battle with the conspiracy soldiers during chapter 2. and don't forget the horrendous ai like brigida running after you going "LET ME HELP I CAN FIGHT" and getting killed in like 5 hits. nothing pissed me off as much as those two.
Oh my god YES This looks great
Did you guys ever do the mission where you need to escort the royal children's nanny through the forest? Now that one was fucking hard because I destroyed an endrega nest while escorting her so I needed to protect her and massacre all the endrega. It was really hard because she was actually really far behind me when I decided to do it
