Then I saw the thumbnails for the old Splinter Cell. Man, these were amazing!
is that the latest splinter cell game? surely you can stealth it out if you want?
is that the latest splinter cell game? surely you can stealth it out if you want?
You can but it's not as viable, not as complex and less convenient than just shooting everybody. [editline]28th October 2012[/editline] Stealth is really just a submechanic of the game these days.
If you play on the hardest difficulty though your gonna have to stealth.
I like to pick the game up again every now and then and only use weapons for shooting out lights instead of guys.
Shame stealth always was splinter cell, now its just another shooter
If you play on the hardest difficulty though your gonna have to stealth.
Even then the game forces you into straight up action at many times, and the stealth lacks the depth the earlier games had.
Conviction is like Michael Bay's Splinter Cell. Most areas give you the option of stealth but a lot of places force you into action, makes you fight groups of enemies. The new one looks worse. Splinter Cell is dead to me.
I remember when I got the original SC for like £2.50 on steam deal a few years ago. I fucking LOVED that game
The new one is basically a bad attempt at the Syphon Filter formula. Hopefully Sony gets it in gear and gives us a good multi-platfom Syphon Filter at some point.
I actually quite enjoyed conviction. It had some kind of cinematic feel in it. Also the concept of words projected on surfaces was extremely cool
I'm sorry but projected textures are the main selling point for the game now?
I actually quite enjoyed conviction. It had some kind of cinematic feel in it. Also the concept of words projected on surfaces was extremely cool
Personally I'm kind of sick of "cinematic experiences." I don't want the same things from games that I want from movies. I guess I must be in the minority though, considering how many developers seem to be talking about how they want to make their games more "cinematic" these days.
I remember playing Spies vs Mercs on Splinter Cell 3. So much damn fun. This series died long ago to me.
Deep, engaging mechanics and varied, emergent gameplay are what I want, not an interactive movie.
Don't people love watching the game play the game for them instead of actually enjoying the game? Don't people love to play a stealth oriented game where the smallest component is actually stealth and primarily unnecessary? Apparently so because this shit was popular.
I actually quite enjoyed conviction. It had some kind of cinematic feel in it. Also the concept of words projected on surfaces was extremely cool
yeah but it was way too short and definetly not worthy of the name splinter cell since the stealth element was drastically dumbed down.
It's just gonna keep getting worse. Blacklist will let you call in airstrikes, that's the last thing you should be able to do in a stealth game
Also :v:
At least it's not Silent Hunter 5, where your router crapping out for 0.5 seconds is enough to cause the game to drop you to the main menu and corrupt your saves.
I'm disappointing that there was no executions in OP's video.
Also :v:
what the fuck
is it wierd that I haven't played video games in a couple months maybe, but in my dream I was holding a copy of splinter cell? It was super apparent that the game was splinter cell, but it also had really no purpose in my dream there was other unrelated shit going on wierd...
Also :v:
Everybody's idea of DRM: Something that stops people from being able to play your game pirated. Ubisoft's idea of DRM: Something that hinders people who buy the game and can easily be worked around by pirates.
The DRM is shocking. I can play Driver: San Francisco (which I still adore) offline, but not Conviction. It's a joke.
